Re: Super Rugby Pacific 2023

I'd be surprised if Foster introduces anyone new outside of the ABs XV. Luke Jacobson would probably be picked before Gardiner who was part of the ABs XV. I thought Ah Kuoi and Suafoa deserved to go on NPC form ahead of Gardiner but outside of lots of injuries I don't see either Ah Kuoi or Suafoa b...

Re: Super Rugby Pacific 2023

Yep, he's been very good. Really caught the eye on last year's NZ XV tour, and continues to impress. RWC bolter? If Foster is going to continue to play Savea at 8, alongside Cane or Papalii at 7, then we need a genuine, test level lineout target at 6. So either Barrett or Vaa'i will be moved to 6, ...

Really like the look of young Dominic Gardiner. I don't think he's a longterm lock, but I like the look of him as a 6. He's got a great workrate and his a handy ball-runner. Will be interesting to see where he fits in to the team when the likes of Whitelock, Barrett, Grace and Blackadder return. Ye...

Re: Super Rugby Pacific 2023

That was an ugly win for the Crusaders, but we still managed to win. Which is in itself an achievement given we have 17 members of the squad injured plus we lost Fainga'anuku and Goodue on the night. Very happy for Mo'unga to reach his 100 games for the Crusaders, and he was one of the few Crusaders...

Is anyone else going to Super Round in Melbourne in Round 2? I'm going this year and I'd like to make it a regular thing, but that's only going to happen if it becomes an event. Thought I'd start a catch-all for this season's Super Rugby chat and match discussions. Go the Crusaders! Will they even have a coach? Regardless of Robertson's next move, I think it's unlikely that he doesn't finish this season at the Crusaders. This will be his last though, which is a real shame ...

Great start for Canterbury, they look very good this season. They have a well balanced squad and look well coached and hungry. That was an entertaining game to watch. Whilst both teams were understrength due to COVID-19 and injuries, the Chiefs missed their missing players more, IMO. Pita Gus-Sowakula was a huge loss, and Anton Lineart-Brown is the glue that keeps their backline together. As has been mentioned , Grace and C...

All this chat about petrol costs, wasted space etc, ultimately people buy cars because they think the look good. And I think some SUV's look great. We like the way that Toyota Prados look, and that's why we drive them. Live and let live I say, and if people like me want to drive an SUV then so be it.

Josh McKay is a good signing for us given the season ending injury to George Bridge. McKay plays a similar role, able to cover wing and fullback. Can Rene Ranger play 12? I seem to remember him playing inside Anthony Tuitavake for the Blues. If he can play 12 then perhaps Goodhue could switch to his best position of centre? I'd be playing Leicester Faingaanuku at 13. But otherwise I think Ranger offers more than Punivai or McLeod (who prefers 12). The problem with Ranger is that at 34, he's a stop-gap measure at best. But with Ennor back in 2022, maybe a stop-gap is all the Crusaders are after?

This is unprecedented. Perhaps instead of trying to bully Ian Foster, BB should actually start playing some decent Rugby ...

Yes, a very good day for NZ today. Sure there was a bit of luck with dropped catches, but that is part and par...

Ffs Jamieson is a good player! Up there with Cameron Green? Cameron Green is extremely highly rated by the Australian cricket commentators. But he is yet to show his full potential at test level. A batteing average of 22 and bowling average of zero suggests he's a work in progress. In contrast, KJ ...

That was a really shit review by Pakistan.

This reminds me of the Pakistan 1st innings, when Azhar Ali and Mohammead Rizwan looked really comfortable in the middle of their innings. NZ got a break through and then sliced through the rest of the team.
