Re: President Trump and US politics catchall

I am very much reminded of the following from the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy when describing Zaphod Beeblebrox as the President of the imperial Galactic Government,

"The President is very much a figurehead - he wields no real power whatsoever. He is apparently chosen by the government, but the ...

A bit surprised and pleased to see Hutchison playing Fly Half for Northampton in their game. Making a good fist of it as well.
I don’t remember seeing him play there before.

Re: The Official Scottish Rugby Thread

Friends!

Just moved to Oxford and wondered if there were any Bite members in the vicinity, looking for some people to commiserate with about Edinburgh, Marvel at and celebrate the Weegies, and wonder when hope becomes expectation with Scotland.

Do you know where the games are shown publicly?, or ...

Re: President Biden and US politics catchall

As a fascinated/apalled American Election watcher I have found both 538 and Nate Silver good info. The following is an excerpt from Nate Silver abut the very thing you are discussing. Maybe the Polls in America are poor. The aggregators like 538 and Nate seem to take this into account.

We can only hope that Democrats are more motivated and organised to vote that the Republicans. I have been basking in the glory of Harris's rise in the polls and living in hope, now it feels like supporting Scotland form 15 years ago...

Unfortunately not, the Pill collator at 538, and on the Silver Bulletin both show the Don now ahead. Scary as that is to contemplate.

Maybe Warr is potentially being lined up for Glasgow now. It wouldn't be the first time that reports of Edinburgh being interested has actually meant that the SRU are interested.

I think Lang should get the benefit of the doubt, clearly Toony sees something in him and Cocker's is no mug either. I remember the despair around Chris Harris and he is going from strength to strength.

I would argue that Darcy brings an X Factor as well and Duhan might very well to. I believe that Lang has played a role at 10 in the recent past so maybe we're not seeing yet what Toonie is aiming for him to bring.
