Re: The Official Scottish Rugby Thread

Piers O'Conor is a decent enough signing as well.

Most of the signings seem to be strategic punts on SQ players and I think that is fair enough really - it is part of the club's role.

There has been a bit of churn in the squad and it seems the budget has been cut for both pro teams, but ...

George Turner signed for Quins, good for Quins, and great for Scotland

He'll turn 35 just before the next world cup, he has a chance for sure. His style is largely about dynamism over power though (albeit he's one of the hardest hitting tacklers I've seen) so perhaps he will drop off over the ...

I just saw a clip of Dan-the-man Lancaster with a lovely kicked try assist for Racing (at the weekend maybe?). Do we think he might be an inclusion for the summer tour? Fergus Burke, Ross Thomson and Dan Lancaster gives 3 young enough 10s for what is essentially a development tour. Hastings rested ...

Thanks TOTM.

I've been watching the game on catch up. Two things - Watson is the form backrow player in Scotland right now, he kept us in the game with his defence.

I am actually on the fence about Darcy. In terms of his skillset and ability as a player I have absolutely no doubt he is more than good enough, both in attack (obviously) and also defence. The one thing that would give me pause about selecting him is his robustness. His injury record is pretty long ...
