Re: Super Rugby 2025 Thread

O'Connor has been a great acquisition by the Saders.

Absolutely. Real chance he’ll start next week I reckon, he’s all class.

This is the kind of thinking that led to Barrett being used as a starting 10 by the ABs, resulting in 7 years of famine. Leave O'Connor where he's succeeding (mostly ...

Couldn't agree more. He's playing brilliantly and is clearly the best 12 in the country right now, with a more rounded game than Tupaea imo.

Intriguing series, at least in the sense that all three games turned out to be mis-matches. NZ had two of the best three seamers (Henry and O'Rourke, along with Carse), and the best spinner (Santner), but also the worst bowler fullstop (Southee), far and away the worst fielding performance (in ...

Re: New Zealand vs England - clash of the titans Cricket

England were a bit unlucky with the DRS. Williamson was given not out on one that was shown to be just clipping the stumps and so was saved by umpire's call; Crawley was given out on one that was shown to be just clipping the stumps and so had to go on umpire's call.

Despite NZ being in a seemingly ...

Why on earth is O'Rourke being sent out to bat? He batted for an hour this morning, then bowled 8 overs straight. Meanwhile, Ravindra has done precisely nothing — surely he could bat for 20 minutes! Isn't that what he's in the side for?

Re: New Zealand vs England - clash of the titans Cricket

Can't fault the application of the top-3 NZ batters in tricky conditions against some mixed bowling, but the middle order all got out to very poor shots. Santner is still windy against anything short, but otherwise showed a bit of application and rode his luck, again raising the question of why he ...

England 124/4 at Lunch.

Fun first session.

Despite what Harmison says, that was clearly NZ's session. Pitch did a bit but looks pretty decent for batting on now - having lost 4 cheaply we'll once again need our batting depth to post a good total. A quick wicket or two, this afternoon, and ...

Pretty average bowling from England - and well down on pace. Seem to be having trouble with the landing areas - no rhythm and too many half trackers - slips also standing way too deep for that pitch and bowling pace.

Is this the same India that NZ recently hammered? The batting, in particular, is largely unrecognisable. Who would have believed that Santner and Patel individually could ever do more damage than the combined might of the much-vaunted Oz bowling lineup?
