Picked up something on the BBC about LRZ being taken off late in the game with a hamstring issue - I don’t know if it was just a precaution. Not saying it justifies his place in the Test team but he’s a good kicker.Slick wrote: Thu Jul 08, 2021 6:31 pmLRZ isn’t close to being in the test team IMO. This keeps getting repeated. Better stats in the 6Ns in defence than the other wingers on tour.
I agree he is great on attack and he does things other wings can't, like clear out rucks but he was exposed a few times on defence in the Six Nations
I'm sure he'll get better though
I also can’t see Adams and IrnDu on the wings unfortunately. Adams must be a shoo in now but they will pick someone better under the high ball on the other wing - Williams or Watson

It's not like they didn't create chances on Wednesday.
It was a very bad Sharks performance.
Perhaps now that the nerves are gone, expectations are low and they know what is going to come at them, they might actually have a better change this time.
It was frustrating to see Kok make the break and then throw a wild hail-mary with the tryline beckoning.
I like your user sig. to paraphrase before this match, “will no one think of the children?”Sards wrote: Fri Jul 09, 2021 8:36 amYou have to understand that we have never seen that starting side for the Sharks. I see the work that 'pretty' is doing there

It's a strong side full stop!! Though I can't see either Harris or Hill starting a test

van der Merwe = Afrikaans as you can get
Itoje = proudly Nigerian as you can get.
I visited Lagos and Nigeria a few times. Always admire the big Nigerians . If they take rugby seriously they will be massive.

If Itoje parents stayed in Nigeria he would be a very good goalie.
But they didn’t and produced a son that is proudly English and proud of his Nigerian roots and a brilliant rugby player.OomStruisbaai wrote: Fri Jul 09, 2021 5:30 pm If Itoje parents stayed in Nigeria he would be a very good goalie.

JJ is looking out of shape.
Badly so.
I was concerned about our starting flyhalf who has spent very little time with the team in place of Boeta.
But when you look at the team it's like getting to know your side as a supporter all over again. So he will fit in quite comfortably. This really is going to show us the depth of the Sharks acquisitions

Why? They are lucky to get another chance and only got it because they were already isolated.clive wrote: Sat Jul 10, 2021 8:21 am The Sharks should be congratulated on providing a game for the Lions.
The Bulls would have been a much harder match for the Lions on Loftus. They have only 4 players on Bok duty and have much more experience players.
Bulls havent lost in the Bull Ring now for ages.
