Over 15 900 new Covid-19 cases, 413 deaths as SA vaccinates 5 million
I’m willing to bet good money we will break records with new cases in 7-10 days after the riots. Expect 30k per day undoing all the hard yards made in this Level 4 lockdown.OomStruisbaai wrote: Fri Jul 16, 2021 9:00 pm Over 15 900 new Covid-19 cases, 413 deaths as SA vaccinates 5 million

Lets hope that the President lifts the curfew and booze ban on Sunday, while numbers are going down.Rinkals wrote: Tue Jul 20, 2021 6:18 amDon't start celebrating yet.OomStruisbaai wrote: Mon Jul 19, 2021 9:44 pm Good news.

Well, there doesn't seem to be any reason for the booze ban, anyway: the segment of society who a booze ban might help are already well stocked since earlier this week.Chilli wrote: Tue Jul 20, 2021 6:55 amLets hope that the President lifts the curfew and booze ban on Sunday, while numbers are going down.Rinkals wrote: Tue Jul 20, 2021 6:18 amDon't start celebrating yet.OomStruisbaai wrote: Mon Jul 19, 2021 9:44 pm Good news.

I am with Rinkie on this. The Covid and Zuma cycle was vicious for our country. The alcohol ban make Liqours Stores easy targets to root. The rooters got drunk and dont care a vok about Covid. This will spread Covid like a fire and the hospitals overflow iso what its aim for.Big Nipper wrote: Tue Jul 20, 2021 7:42 amSo they only drink in KZN now? Now it is a lose / lose situation. It also cost our economy vokken Billions.
While I understand what you are saying, booze is freely available in PE / Gqeberha, the prices are just very very highBig Nipper wrote: Tue Jul 20, 2021 7:42 amSo they only drink in KZN now? You are saying that the looters got all the booze they needed from last week, but in case you haven't noticed the looting was confined to two provincesRinkals wrote: Tue Jul 20, 2021 9:37 amWhat on earth are you talking about?Big Nipper wrote: Tue Jul 20, 2021 7:42 amSo they only drink in KZN now? I'm not really interested in who has all the booze or which provinces didn't suffer from looting.

As the community in Gauteng and KZN stood up against the looters, so am I against bullies and "looters" on here. Get used to it, mate.Big Nipper wrote: Tue Jul 20, 2021 10:57 am Nah I'm just living rent free in that thick skull of yours

Despite the setbacks from last week in Gauteng and KZN that will likely hit us in the next 7 days or so thinks are looking up.
2 successive days of over 200,000 vaccines administered. 5.5M in total. Still a long way to go, but I’m happy progress is being made…finally.
The 35-49 year cohort isn’t fucking around. Hopefully the vaccine supply can be maintained and we can keep up this pace or event improve it when Gauteng and KZN retail pharmacies and clinics get restored.
Positivity rate down to 22% for last weeks 30% which is great. Hospitalisations also down.
Excess deaths nearing almost 200,000, even tough the “offical” COVID death toll is at 64,000. Crazy.

I was about to ask if you cant take the vaccine if you're positive then I realised it's a stupid question. But I'm wondering now if they test before giving the vaccine (probably another stupid question) but many people have covid and don't even know they have it. A friend had symptoms but tested negative but his wife who hade no symptoms tested positive.Big Nipper wrote: Wed Jul 21, 2021 7:42 amNo, did not go because I tested positive for Covid AGAIN on SaturdayChilli wrote: Wed Jul 21, 2021 7:31 amDid you go for your vaccine?

They won't give you the vaccine if you have tested positive within 3 months. I'm not 100% sure of the time frame but that is the CDC's recommendation. They do ask you when getting the vac.average joe wrote: Wed Jul 21, 2021 8:27 amI was about to ask if you cant take the vaccine if you're positive then I realised it's a stupid question.
