"On July 24 the supreme council of the Russian Rugby Federation established a committee to prepare an application to host the Rugby World Cup in Russia in 2027," read a statement on the Russian Rugby Federation website.

Would love to see it in Italy or Argentina before we start heading down the world rankings for hosts.

Yeah, Italy or Argentina would be great. Pretty sure the US will get one soon as well.

Yeah, Let's give the Rugby world cup to people determined to weaken and destroy western democracy, and break up all western alliances through a massive misinformation campaign. why not..

A Russian bribe would have to be phenomenal to even get them into consideration one would have thought.

World Rugby need the world cup revenue and given where traditional rugby countries are I don't see many travelling to Russia, not in the same way as they did Japan. Nor do I see the Russian population getting behind things as the Japanese did.

This talk of Russian bribes is just anti-russian propaganda. In fact Russia have gone out of their way to offer support and help to World Rugby - even going as far as offering to count the votes. Helpfully, they have also announced the result to save time and money. The Russian bid got 123% of the vote.
