England in Australia
Part of me is wondering if this a real injury or just Eddie deciding he wants to change the setup on the bench so asking Willis to take a fall. Why replace a loose forward with a center?JM2K6 wrote: Sat Jul 09, 2022 9:38 am Comparison with Ireland will certainly show where England is.
Another player injured in training eh? Surprise.

Quality coverage from Sky as ever. Greenwood's just intro'd van Portvliet's try last week as being an example of how the experienced players show their worth and yet every bit of the clips lined up showcases Smith, Arundell, van Portvliet and Marchant.

Justin Harrison on comms
How does he get work given his various transgressions?

I actually like what the Aussies try for the anthems. It really does feel like wandering into Mick Dundee's pub at around closing time.

Shock horror! Letting a 10 play as 10 works.JM2K6 wrote: Sat Jul 09, 2022 10:14 am Terrible kicking but very much preferring the shape so far. Smith getting his hands on the ball at ten, Farrell doing his thing in midfield, no constant bullshit static pullback plays

Van Portvliet looking nice and snappy so far.
Said last week I preferred Smith at 10, his more personal threat helps hold the defence, then if it goes to Farrell I trust him to just ship it out faster and not try and take it to the line himself (with the depth they have it just lets the defence drift).JM2K6 wrote: Sat Jul 09, 2022 10:14 am Terrible kicking but very much preferring the shape so far. Basically letting Smith play to his strength, taking the ball flatRaggs wrote: Sat Jul 09, 2022 10:17 amSaid last week I preferred Smith at 10, his more personal threat helps hold the defence, then if it goes to Farrell I trust him to just ship it out faster and not try and take it to the line himself (with the depth they have it just lets the defence drift).JM2K6 wrote: Sat Jul 09, 2022 10:14 am Terrible kicking but very much preferring the shape so far. Thought the same, released the first time, but held the second and still went back to his feet.

Didn't have us running at almost a point a minute for this game. A welcome surprise.
It’s really weird how they think they can get away with what they can do at a low key club match.

Stripped by England, then tackled, unplayable, how is that Aus ball?
Surely the Aussie is then playing it on the ground?
