Would that make the odious Miller the only non-family member to have lasted the Administration?
The daughter keeps tweeting about how much the parents' career [choices?] have ruined their lives, not a great look ahead of an election. I prefer to think of Kellyanne seeking to leave a sinking ship, though....Sinkers wrote: Mon Aug 24, 2020 4:56 am Seems to be a domestic thing as George is stepping down from the Lincoln project also?

Kelly Anne was the administration, she wasn't some bit part player, she single handedly inspired others with her warped bullshit, and glued it all together in times of severe crisis.
This isn't about jumping ship.
She didn't hitch her wagon to trump. If anything he hitched his to hers.

Didn't she spend a couple of days calling out Trump on Twitter a few weeks back? I'd assumed she had already gone after that, apparently not.Line6 HXFX wrote: Mon Aug 24, 2020 2:24 pm Kelly Anne was the administration, she wasn't some bit part player, she single handedly inspired others with her warped bullshit, and glued it all together in times of severe crisis.

There are a few. Higher profile devotees include Pompeo, Carson, Chao, De Vos, Mnuchin, Ross, Perdue, and, of course, Chris Liddell..OverThere wrote: Mon Aug 24, 2020 2:18 pmPence too.Hal Jordan wrote: Mon Aug 24, 2020 7:08 am Would that make the odious Miller the only non-family member to have lasted the Administration?
I found this to be a good read: https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/ ... ion-400039

Trump's speech at the RNC is the expected jingoistic word salad... currently crapping on about how the Dakota pipeline has been approved and is a great thing... pretty much proving everything in the politico article.

Trump is saying the only way he can lose is if the election is rigged. He though he appears to have been the one trying to rig it by suppressing votes.

What's his conspiracy theory and is it any more lamentable than the dems' USPS delusional hysteria?Fat Old Git wrote: Mon Aug 24, 2020 8:27 pm Trump is saying the only way he can lose is if the election is rigged. He though he appears to have been the one trying to rig it by suppressing votes.

So this guy, tweets Trump tweets...
“Facts are meaningless. You could use facts to prove anything that's even remotely true.”
I'm kind of in a state of suspended belief that Trump really is whipping up the population to not accept the result of the election. It just seems incredible that this is happening in a modern state, the leaders of the free world no less. The fact that lawmakers on his side are happy to sit and twiddle their thumbs and not make a stand is beyond contempt.
Is 4 years enough to bring down an empire? I guess it is. The best bet is that this passes into history and we march on, but I don't think it is beyond the realms of possibility that this will cause civil war and the end of the USA hegemony

I said as much a few years ago. Namely that there was a danger that Trump would try to spark a rebellion if he failed to win a second term but was derided as being a conspiracy theorist at the time.Slick wrote: Tue Aug 25, 2020 8:28 am I'm kind of in a state of suspended belief that Trump really is whipping up the population to not accept the result of the election. The point is that there are enough small heavily armed militia including that Bundy Boys outfit that instigated an armed insurrection in Navada to make the scenario plausible.

The fact that these groups are legally heavily armed must leave a trail of touchpowder to a potentially dangerous tinderbox, should Trump not win. And Trump is clearly lighting matches.
I'm not saying that it will happen; merely that the potential exists.
Who knows, maybe Trump will be re-elected by landslide rendering the possibility moot.

Are these sorts actually prepared to act on their rhetoric though? If the bullets started flying, especially if the military is involved, would these guys stick at it and fight / die or would they slink off into the distance with their tails between their legs?Rinkals wrote: Tue Aug 25, 2020 8:56 amI said as much a few years ago. I genuinely don't know but my best guess is they would choose the later option?

hysteria about undermining a system of voting that was used by 20% of the voting population last time out and which will be the only safe way of voting in a pandemic - that hysteria ?notfatcat wrote: Mon Aug 24, 2020 9:09 pmWhat's his conspiracy theory and is it any more lamentable than the dems' USPS delusional hysteria?Fat Old Git wrote: Mon Aug 24, 2020 8:27 pm Trump is saying the only way he can lose is if the election is rigged. yeah, if Trump loses it'll be another sideshow with plenty of angry fcuking morons but I dont see a military coup unfolding and I wouldn't fancy the chances of any knuckle dragging militia taking on the US federal forcesFangle wrote: Tue Aug 25, 2020 2:46 pm Whoever wins the election, I honestly see nothing serious happening. So Fredo Trump plans on taking the 5th, rather than testifying to the AD investigating the tax/bank/insurance fraud by his shit stain of a father.
And the GOP has been telling us for decades that only criminals take the 5th; things like:

“The mob takes the Fifth,” Trump said after Hillary Clinton aides invoked their right against self-incrimination. “If you’re innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?”
He added at his first debate with Clinton that pleading the Fifth is “disgraceful.”

The same with locking kids in cages, which was fine when Obama was president.
