All gone very quiet over there...

44 needed from 47 - game over red rover. India thrashed.

Right - so lets just call this game for England - no better team in the world when pure power hitting is on the go. Mockers bollocks aside - name a team with better and more consistent power hitters than England - even if one of these guys gets out - they still have Salt, Stokes, Brook, Livingstone, Ali and Curran.......I mean.....unbelievable wealth of power.
Incredible to think that 2015 English limited overs cricket was in crisis.
English media is going to be unbearable.

Thank Eoin Morgan, Andrew Strauss, and Trevor Bayliss I guess.Thor Sedan wrote: Thu Nov 10, 2022 10:48 am Right - so lets just call this game for England - no better team in the world when pure power hitting is on the go. To be fair, our bowling's had a role to play, but it was true in 2019 that we did a job with the ball and really were unbeatable on flatter tracks with our power hitting. Slower pitches were a real leveller.
I think you guys can't wait to have a moan at our media! But I don't think our cricket media is all that bad. And this is a team worth celebrating, whatever happens in the final. It's rare that we have multiple world class players in any sport, and even rarer when they're well coached and perform to expectations and have clear thinking.English media is going to be unbearable.
Universe Jos deciding to join the party. Some incredible shots this over.
Is there anything more likely to make an England team briefly popular with non-English cricket fans than handing India an absolute humiliation in a world cup semi final? It's one thing to beat them, it's another to do this to them. This is the sort of thing that can break teams.
This reminds me of when England got utterly tonked by Sri Lanka at a world cup, but no-one was under any impression that England were a great side then.

emphatic, 10 wicket win with 4 overs to spare, that's how to fuck up the Indians properly

Will be a fun final. Pakistan have Pakistan'd their way there. England coming off the back of a win where the only way is down. And them having played a really good series before the world cup.
Not many sides can say they can match England's power batting up front but Babar and Rizwan are fully capable of tearing us a new one. We managed to rein them in a bit during that series but it's going to be a fascinating battle. I suppose the neutrals looking for a good game will hope that Pakistan bat first and those two get off to a flyer...

England is just a class above the rest in white ball cricket.
There I said it again.
The Proteas need to sort out their shite. We definitely have the players but then they should be selected on merit not skin colour. Boucher gone now, so we need to start from scratch. Let's hope they get it right.

But England are a beast - Pakistan will have to play 100% both batting and bowling to get close - and hope that England play below 80%.
Genuinely think that 100% Pakistan get beaten easily by a 100% England.

Maybe I should also qualify the media as 'Piers Morgan'......anything that brings joy to him makes me feel ill.JM2K6 wrote: Thu Nov 10, 2022 12:22 pm Oh I think England are favourites, for sure. But finals rarely work out like that (we're not Aussies) and neither side will be 100%.

Only doing so in a final? Mind you, it being a final might temper such loyalties with England participating. So, as you were.JM2K6 wrote: Thu Nov 10, 2022 10:57 am Is there anything more likely to make an England team briefly popular with non-English cricket fans than handing India an absolute humiliation in a world cup semi final?

game on, swing from Stokes but it's a no-ball and then a wide.
16/0 after 3, no boundaries yet... 6!
45/2 England bowlers well in control
