Be a good fella and don't mention South African brandy too often, eh? I've been keen on trying it for some time but hens' teeth are commonplace items by comparison here in Straya.

Oddly enough, tho', I saw two different types on sale in New Plymouth, NZ a few years back but passed up on it. My reasoning was that, being on hols, I'd guzzle it too quickly and probably make a cunt of myself. Which was probably true.

But even so...

Went for brandy tasting while in Ashton. Mrs bought me Heerlik 5 years for a percent. Quite nice with a chocolate.

We have some outstanding brandies. Even the very affordable brandies are very good quality.

I had the Distiller from Van Ryns Brandy here in November for a Brandy & Food evening. The 20YO has been voted as Best In The World . www.vanryns.co.za
