SHould we not admire his consistency?
On a serious note, has to be worrying for NZ when a Soup side has to hire a NH journeyman at a key position like FH. What's happened to the conveyor belt?

I missed the start of this... they've just mentioned that Razor stayed home to be with his family. Anyone know if everything is alright there for him?

Try not to worry about it. We're not.

Alex Harford didn't get a Supe contract. Criminal. Not him, the system.

Most of them, yeah. He had a long injury break last year and probably did a lot of gym time.

Cheers. Early doors but that explains why he's looked off the pace cw with last season.

I watched them last week and I felt he tried to do too much every time he had it. Scrabbling a little for form, perhaps... but on the flipside he's made some massive tackles tonight for a small player.

Could well be wrong, but I think he's one of those players who plays better the higher the level. Feel the same about Roigard.

He was simply making the ' indicating the drawing of "hauora", the breath of life into the heart and lungs' sign like they do during the Kapa o Pango. It doesn't at all mean 'throat slitting' or 'you're fukken dead mate'.

In the last five minutes, down by 1 point, why do the Rebs keep kicking possession away?

Just watching highlights of the Brumbies - Canes game, and the cleanout on Jordie by the Brumbies no.5 just before they scored their first try looks very dodgy indeed. Shoulder charge directly into Jordie's head. Isn't that a straight red card these days? :???:

Edit: the Rebels of course, not the Brumbies.

Anyhoo, having watched the full game again, it was at least as bad as Mafileo's red card imho.

Big Jim - not a 10's ringpiece

Where are the spectators?

This is Day 2 of the Super Supe round and there's hardly anyone in attendance.

Supe FAIL.

DMac misleading the Chiefs to an underwhelming and demoralisingly slim 38-3 halftime lead.

Well, I'm right on the money. I had Chiefs by 36.

{EDIT} And I was the widest margin pick.

Very dangerous player against this kind of opposition where they give too much space. IMHO, not good enough at intl. level against physical, defensively good teams to play FH.

Mo'unga's defensive weakness was ruthlessly exposed by England in 2019 and 2022, at great cost to the team. DMac is a much better defender imho.

Not sure you'll have many others backing that claim. He was used as a speed bump for MP's 1st try. But that's not really my reservation because plenty of FHs are weak-ish defensively. It's more that I don't think he has the tactical management for games where there is no space.

Should say, it's not that I'm not a fan. Always a soft spot for someone who clearly just loves playing.

I'm a big Stevenson fan, but he really needs to improve his close quarters defence.. For a man of his size, he should be burying ball carriers, not letting them stroll though his weak arm tackles.

So many empty seats. So much for a Super Round. How can this be anything other than a financial bust?

Looks as if Gus Sowakula joined Fakatava on their pie-eating rampage over the off season. He looks way stockier than he did last season.

The crowds were dismal.

No idea what the logic of placing it there is.

Let’s go with NZR giving RA a concession on this for a start.

I imagine that’s some sort of goodwill gesture aimed at restoring their battered pride at only getting 28 cents for their broadcast rights compared to the 13 Ferraris and a goose that shits gold bars NZR got.

Then try to get your head around the hype the Aussies increasingly like to spread all over the walls of their cubicle and how they like to think Melbourne is the sporting capital of the World. They do think that, by the way. RA probably think they can hitch up with the conga line of hype that surrounds the imminent start of the AFL season and the F1 GP. Actual bums on seats isn’t as exciting to them.

Given how many times they've said how awesome melbourne is, I'm guessing tourism melbourne/Victoria have thrown them enough cash that crowd numbers only need to be minimal to make it successuful

On PR, guys that actually went to the matches in Melbourne are saying how good the crowds are... I am presuming they must all be sitting behind the camera?

My Melbourne-based brother was at the ground for the Canes vs Rebels match and reckoned the crowd was 3/4 kiwis and was very vocal. He said it was a much larger crowd than he had expected.
