The breeding season is over, the numbers are already there. Vast flocks of grouse haven't started dive bombing innocent members of public yet. Far fewer pheasants were penned this year. No need for organised shoots whatsoever. I’m sorry your shoot doesn’t do any conservation work, mine does loads.
The partridge are already free, mostly French ..... the weak will not make it through to breed.
My shoot put less pheasants down, but same partridge.
Anyway let em rot hey.

Given the interaction of in-pub staff with other staff and the public, I think you might need to reevaluate your thinking.
What we do on our shoot is active conservation. Since I've been a member,we've paid for and planted 20 small copses with native tree species, all randomly spaced to avoid looking unnatural, undergrowth is cut once a year, set aside is now a 5 metre boundary from field to hedgerow, again, only cut once a year to encourage wildflowers. To suggest that it needs active conservation by a group of more than 6 is absolute bollocks.
