The Rugby Championship - Round 2
The ref is bloody goodOomStruisbaai wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 7:45 am Our URC ref is excellent. All Blacks forwards dominate
It's the difference between going in at half time within a couple of scores and being 32 points behind. World's biggest momentum team. Unstoppable with the wind in their sails and everything going right to feed their emotions. Absolute dogshit when they have early failures and their heads drop and they lose faith.Kiwias wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 7:44 amThey are definitely not making this easy for themselvesJM2K6 wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 7:42 amYes, but how you respond to that pressure is on you. Some credit to the ABs for the intense pressure they are exerting

They have been to arrogant. Going for a line out while they have an easy 3 pointer when the score was 10-3. Their scrum and line gets dominate. Nothing to do with the essay you just wroteJM2K6 wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 7:48 amIt's the difference between going in at half time within a couple of scores and being 32 points behind. Piardi excellent - telling the TMO there's no need to check where the knock on was becasue he knew it was within the field of play. Jonker sounding a bit sheepish confirming that.

Tackling while standing upright is stupid these daysJM2K6 wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 8:49 am Ah that reverse angle does show some head contact, but the force is all taken away by the huge collision on the shoulder first. Bad technique, could've been very dangerous.
Yes. There's a certain body shape of the players most likely to really damage someone doing it, and they're also the ones most likely to do it in the first place. Squat front rowers and inside centres!Kiwias wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 8:50 amTackling while standing upright is stupid these daysJM2K6 wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 8:49 am Ah that reverse angle does show some head contact, but the force is all taken away by the huge collision on the shoulder first. Something something drop body weights as well as tackle heights something something
I don't blame him. It wasn't until the rear view that I also thought there was no head contact, because there was no sign of the head being knocked back when they came together and there was a huge deceleration due to the tackle.
As it is, it's a glancing blow at worst and all the force is from the huge force going through the shoulder.
Stays a yellow.

Yeah, he's become a really good player. I'm not sure who's going to be his long term partner in the midfield, though.JM2K6 wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 8:58 am Has NZ made a more impactful selection decision in recent years than deciding Jordie is a 12 and sticking with it? He was in danger of becoming a bits and pieces player attracting a lot of criticism, but he's a huge player at 12.
I picked the Wallabies by 6 last week and that didn't pan out, so...Jethro wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 9:24 am Quick change here, now in traditional Wallaby colours, what do you wanna be a walla walla bee![]()
Have a real bad feeling about Perth, but maybe a surprise is waiting to be sprung![]()
