Top 14 refs seem to be the most desperate to find any excuse to mitigate a sanction down from a red card and yet FFR are still one of the strongest voices against the 20-minute red.Torquemada 1420 wrote: Sat Jan 11, 2025 6:24 amThe game is going the wrong way with this stuff with refs to blame IMHO.Tichtheid wrote: Fri Jan 10, 2025 9:30 pm That's twice Racing have been lucky to keep 15 players on the park, that clearout on Darge is something that has to be taken out of the game
- we had the Mack Hansen outburst which seemed bang on to me. And he gets a ban longer that the dangerous player.
- Alldritt was furious with ref Luc Ramos (a serial offender) and pointedly told him "Don't talk to us about player safety any more" after Tuilagi (another with a history of thuggery) shoulder charged the LaR man's head with no sanction.
- And talking of serial offenders, this clearout by Latu (the man is an uber c**t)
also went largely unpunished by Ref Ramos which led to Dupont taking to social media along with the likes of Dourthe on Canal Plus.
We have 2 problems
1) Refs who can't, won't or deliberately choose not to do their job.
2) Players who are not changing despite all the directives and some who seemingly are actively encouraged to continue being ****s. Tight 5 on LatuTolu Latu, again.
Hate to keep mentioning it but he is an actual danger. One of the worst card records of all time, seems to never learn.
With Thomas and now Latu, what we seem to have ended up with recently in the Top 14 is the 10-minute red card - players getting a ban but back on the pitch after a 10-minute rest.

They are keen to mitigate it down........ if it's a big team. But yes, your observations are correct in general.topofthemoon wrote: Sat Jan 11, 2025 1:07 pm

Vannes are great fun to watch. And an example of what is possible if you don't operate closed leagues.

The Sharks LH never binds. Just scrum inwards all the time. The French ref look like a back and have no clue.Sards wrote: Sat Jan 11, 2025 1:45 pm Frans gets carded for scrumming inward. Last week he got away with it the whole game.
Would like ouboets thought on this. He thought Frans was scrumming well against the Sharks last week

Obviously it was brought to the refs attention after last week ouboet. And it's clear as daylight. Frans scrums inward. Every time. The proof is in the card

Edinburgh losing to a town of 50,000 people whose attendances are probably greater than Ed's too.

14 internationals with 339 caps in the Edinburgh starting XV versus 2 internationals with 4 caps for Vannes.Torquemada 1420 wrote: Sat Jan 11, 2025 2:22 pm Edinburgh losing to a town of 50,000 people whose attendances are probably greater than Ed's too.
If Edinburgh lose this then I think their coach is done.
