I'm very undecided about Goosen. He has all the weapons to be a generational talent. If he demonstrates consistency over the next season then I'd have him as flyhalf backup for the next two world cup cycles. He could have a fair bit of longevity in him because he doesn't have a lot of milage with all the breaks.

Let's see him after a full season of URC. For now he's been playing against vokken students, carpenters and taxi drivers. And that's just WP.

He has a weird Hansie Cronje vibe about him. A Free State boy with no moral compass. He's outrageously gifted and I'd love him to do a Tom Brady or Morne Steyn thirtysomething fairytale.

No, but with current covid protocols if Goosen is positive, then all his close contacts should be tested and in isolation till a negative result is produced........................not much time for training and the risk factor is huge.
Those of us Freestate supporters, considering supporting the "Toyota $harks" in the URC wouldn't want our players exposed to the disease ridden Bulls.

Apparently all the other players came back negative when tested on Sunday, but I also have some doubts, knowing the incubation period of the disease. But hopefully not.

In case anyone is wondering....I was
A newcomer on the bench for the Sharks in this final is former SACS (Cape Town) schoolboy Lucky Dlepu, who will cover scrumhalf.
“Lucky came to us from Western Province last year and has been part of the systems since then,” said Everitt. “Him getting a chance now is an indication of what can happen if you patient and work hard at progressing through the system. Appearing in a Currie Cup final is a reward for the hard work he has put in.”
I wonder what Wright did wrong

The Cape Townships are more into soccer. The more recent arrivals from eColoni are more into rugby and cricket. My painter coaches a kids rugby and cricket team in Langa. We've just raised money and donated a shitload of cricket gear to the club. The outstanding talent gets scholarship a to SACS, Rondebosch, Wynberg etc. PRG and the Paarl schools then poach them. We've got the grass roots base to be world beaters at both sports. Just need to get rid of the Zelt Marais types to make that happen.

Ja swaer, Agree 100%. I am very impress with Langas hockey team. They have a nice blue astro and they play in WPs top league. I visited once when my laaitie played club hockey there.
WP top hockey club is Centrals at Vygieskraal in Athlone. They produced hockey stars in the Cassiem broers. They play professional now in Germany.
That's where our future untapped sportsmen are. They don't practice in Gyms , out in the streets and back yards
