"Hensopper" is a classic insult, hilariously descriptive. Great to be able to wheel it out again. The hensopper is playing well, if he stays fit he'll be in the Bok team.

Deserved to be in the Bok setup now TBH. 3x the player Wiese is and a perfect replacement for Vermeulen.

As unfair as it is, I think his Bok hopes are over. Nienaber looking for a young 8 to develop and give some exposure. I just hope it isn’t Wiese and that Roos or Louw gets some consideration.

Butch just said Marcell has "put up his hand" and will be in the Bok squad again. I'm way ahead of Butch's analysis.

Marcell on the bench. Only Siya is clearly ahead of him at openside, that's what not getting injured (but it's not like any player can control that much) getting selected and using the opportunities does. Marcell is still excellent though, would slot him in anywhere in the backrow, strong bench option. I've never found the Rassie/Nienaber backrow options below the first choice that convincing, but then Du Toit took awhile to get really good at blindside at test level so maybe the other selections need time.

Not arguing with you. I’d have Marcel and Louw into the Bok squad in a heartbeat and give Smith and Wiese the boot.

It just doesn’t seem as if Nienaber is on the same wavelength.

Bulls were the much better team. My thoughts are with Ruggafan and his intense hate of Jake White, as he mourns this Bulls victory.

Sharks should be better in the URC with the Boks back. Lets all hope it's not another case of the Sharks falling short in the Currie Cup, only to be the best SA side in the international provincial/franchise competition and also fall short there. We must all hope the Sharks do well in the URC.

Louw, Swanepoel, Nortje looks very giod for the future. Even Kriel at 15 is starting to look good. There are a core if very good young guys coming through at tge Bulls, and i think all the experienced guys Jake brought back have a very good influence on them. The learning trajectory seems steep upwards.

Yeah, as much as I dislike the Sharks, when it comes to URC I’ll be supporting every SA side against NH opposition. It’s us vs them.

The animosity directed at the Sharks, comes from the bad old days of it being the Engelsman team. The old joke about Craven asking "who won the British Lions or Natal?" and he was told "the English" and he then asked "ours or theirs?". Natalians being by far the most one eyed provincial fans, is just a reaction against this attitude. We have been radicalised by everyone else and are not responsible or to blame for our own unlikeability.

It's the Rassie phenomenon. The good guys get abused for years, the abuser's own actions create "the Rassie" (like Neo from the Matrix), then the abusers go nuts.

Boks won't be back for the early rounds? Elrich Louw and Roos means we have great options at 8 going forward.

Yikes. Well done Bulls.

The gulf in the teams was drastic. Sharks looked like a club side. The absence of our Boks was just too much and our depth is very worrying.

Jake White's procurement policy looks set to pay dividends. I foresee their contribution to the Boks will be minimal, meaning he can put out a strong squad in the URC.

Glad that shitshow of a tournament is over.

It's finals...we either push it to the end or have a complete blowout. With 12 players on bok duty it was always going to be a challenge but there is absolutely no excuse. I feel we are lacking in our on field leadership currently. It just doesn't feel right. There is absolutely no passion or pride. We need to get that back again.
