There is a case for Matsushima getting MOM, he has been scaring the shit out of the Lions defence

Ben Youngs has been poor since coming on for Japan.

You can't really blame them for pulling their punches this close to a tour, but this is now very, very poor.

I think you might have been expecting a bit too much from this game! Only some of these guys have been in camp, the tour hasn't started, and the individual performances have been largely fine-to-good with a couple of exceptions.

No one even close to laying a glove on him there.

Don’t panic. Boks will be even more rusty.

A more sympathetic pass on Duhan was away.

Must do better and will do better but it is a start.

Given how awful the Lions have been in these pre tour matches before, not bad.

What have we learned?... Murray should be nohwere near a test jersey. Falatau is dreadfully off the pace.

It's been much what I expected to be fair, but you never like to see some players, especially in the second half, going through the paces so blatantly.

Not even the first game. Still a fair few players to join the squad.

All a bit meh but that's to be expected. Murray was a big concern. He really won't fit a gt system

<fanboy> Sinckler made 14 tackles and missed none in 30 minutes, and some nice passing too

(Sshhh about the two penalties)

Yeah. And he is past it so I'd rather he is part of the tour.

He's had an Indian summer, I'm not a fan of his but he deserved his place

Gray lock of Exeter is a great player. He would have been perfect for SA.

With AWJ out they will probably select him. Is he from Scotland?

Pretty much what I expected. Lions struggling to get continuity but good enough to win comfortably. I thought Sinckler was outstanding when he came on. Hard for a Bok fan to read much into it.

Pity Japan waited until the 2nd half to start firing. I really like the way they play, and hope they get more international games.

I’ll have to take your (everyones) word for it. I only watched the last 20 minutes and thought he was very average! Laughed when he was given MOTM. Sounds as if most of them fell off in that period though.

Amusing reading through this to see a few saying Murray was rubbish given what happened a couple of hours later!
