Next season you must pay closer attention. I suggest viewing in a darkened locked room, no distractions. Boeta played 10 and 15, and the side went better with him at 10. Did more at 10 this season than the guy in the Bok 10 jersey.assfly wrote: Wed Jul 12, 2023 12:48 pm I like Boeta but I wouldn't call him consistent. With all due respect to those calling for him to play in honor of his father. Losing a parent is not easy. He needs to spend time with his family
When he played for the Sharks this season it was like watching a different team. When he didn't which seemed like most of the time, it was like they were missing three players.
Can't imagine his mind being focused on the game.
Which Stomp do we have ready to step in, Orie?

He break from 2012 (Heyneke Meyer) - 2017 (Alistair Coetzee). I use to call him a spoiled brat because he alway had that tantrums , look like a teenager in his younger days. Since he joined the Cheetahs he has been outstanding for them. Sadly miss this WC tournament. What an achivement it would have been to be a 3 time WC winner.boere wors wrote: Wed Jul 12, 2023 7:40 am
Our prodigal son... should have been a test centurion, made himself unavailable for some years, had some run ins with coaches, bit of hard luck with injuries. Yet still manged to win 2 RWCs and 2 Lions series. Massive talent.
There it is folks...

I'm sure Boeta will be better next season. Sure as hell can't be worse._Os_ wrote: Wed Jul 12, 2023 12:57 pmNext season you must pay closer attention. Hey, you won't see me supporting Herschel at any time. I think he's garbage. Paul de Wet wipes the floor with him every week for the Stomps._Os_ wrote: Wed Jul 12, 2023 12:49 pmSS doesn't have to worry about a true yster like him at 9, all the wobbly 9s he wanted have been selected.LoveOfTheGame wrote: Wed Jul 12, 2023 12:22 pm Who can forget his passionate support for Cameron Wright.
All we can do is support Herschel Jantjies on his way to 100 test caps through perpetual inclusion in the Bok squad, indeed it is our duty. He once scored a try in a test match years ago and is from the Cape, so it is his right to always be selected. Clearly a lowly Sharks player couldn't possibly be mentally and physically tougher. And as SS said, because "scatty" Herschel is selected in the squad this means Boeta must watch on TV. This also means you need a "scatty" 10 to partner the "scatty" 9 and they must all be from the glorious Cape.
Not interested in Willemse.
I have seen too many times this year and last how when the big names came back it went pear shaped. Recent example. URC final. It's almost looks like some players are only interested in playing in big matches.
Regarding posting. Sometimes I just don't have time. From an industry standard dreadful April and May where I bled money every single day, things turned in June and we are struggling to keep up now. So for the past 2 months it's been crazy. And we have been entertaining a lot more for work and mostly with people that don't follow rugby.....

And it's not the same watching replays.
Good enough explanation.

The reason I don't like him is because I think he's a bit slow, in the head....when he gets to any ruck you can almost see his mind try to process what's happening around him before he makes a move. He doesn't get to the rucks with a plan. If he gets a gap he goes.....no denying that, but it's the slowness and kak kicks that irritates me

Looks like it's full Barretts again, Mounga at first five, BB at fullback while also covering 10.

... and Jordan on the wing while covering fullback in case Beaudie has to cover 10.
It's almost as if I concocted the team.

Really looking forward to seeing how Williams goes off the bench. Christie ahead of Roigard again is disappointing. Very happy to see my preferred choice, ABC, starting at 11. I've developed a theory that Clarke actually improves the higher the number he wears on his back. While he may prove to be an adequate 23 (doubtful), I firmly believe he'd be much better suited to wearing numbers 24 and above.

What happened to DMac?
Nobody knows, he was Fostered out so he could be anywhere.

Mo'unga is the incumbent 10 in the ABs side. DMac deserves a run after a standout Super Rugby season... but he was outplayed by Mo'unga in the final. Big pressure games bring out the best etc, and the first act of DMac's test outing was very nearly a conceded try in embarrassing fashion.
Foster will persevere with BB at 15 and that will cost other players spots in the team. You could drop BB, play Jordan at 15 with Shaun Stevenson at wing and have DMac off the bench as cover for 10-15. Equally, you could swap Mo'unga for DMac in that scenario... but the compromise is that Foster will select BB regardless and everyone else has to be squeezed to accommodate that. It's fucked.

DMac at least on the bench. Fuck he can cover a lot of positions. Just show the strength and depth the All Blacks have.

When it comes to combinations, I think about the way Stevenson complemented DMac all season coming into the line at times, along with their shared understanding and implementation of an effective kicking game. They were sa standout in that sense all season. Bearing in mind the time lost to injury recovery for Jordan, he and Mo'unga have a similar dynamic and combine well. The same goes for Havili who plays a perfect foil to Mo'unga in a .... dual playmaker.... set up.Gumboot wrote: Thu Jul 13, 2023 4:52 am Yep, agree with all of that, Guy. It's just laughable that Foster goes on about the importance of forging combinations, but the only ones he's retained this week are the midfield and loosies. Roll on next year.
You had me till Havili. Not really a fan, tbh. He's a very good Supe player and has all the skills, but some of his test performances have been pretty average. He shines against weaker defences, but he's thrown some costly no-look intercepts against the better sides, and just seems to fade out of games when he's needed most. Jordie's the polar opposite, and just throws his huge frame into everything for the full game.

I wasn't seriously suggesting Havili as a selection now, just that the way he and RMo combine is a perfect example of that (hate the phrase) dual playmaker set up.
I think the way we're heading is you want players at 10-15 (or one of the wings) who can switch seamlessly in and out and mix up the attack. I think we generally do this quite well and it's a strength.. butit means selecting the right players Foster you mucking fuppet,.

BB and DMac worked well last weekend. BB only came up into the line in specific pre-planned occasions on a left right split which was effective, pushing the rest of the line out one and forcing the Argies to readjust their defensive pattern. Hope we see the same again this weekend. Richie will be left to run the ship effectively and we'll get a proper look at what he can do.

To be fair... Mo'unga's first act when he came on was almost identical! I can't believe DMac isn't on the bench. And I can't believe Christie is!!!Guy Smiley wrote: Thu Jul 13, 2023 4:45 amMo'unga is the incumbent 10 in the ABs side. I note the odds of a SA win have tumbled down since the All Black team announcement. Whitelock is a big miss.

I am use to the afrikaanse saying. "Maak Alle Bulle Bokke".
My kid was in Paarl Gim , then moved to Paul Roos. At Paarl Gim the parents wear green, shirt, pants, under pants, women bra, gum boots when supporting their kids.
