Don't worry. It'll be all scarlets into the last 20, I'll leave for work and the weegies will turn it (back) on and romp home.S/Lt_Phillips wrote: Sat Apr 29, 2023 5:12 pm Jesus, what are Glasgow doing? Literally throwing this away. Plus they can't win a lineout and constantly getting pinged. They need to get to half time without losing more points.
They had a fair wobble but seem to have sorted themselves out. Brutal 20 minutes from scarlets though. Glasgow won’t get let back into a game like that in the playoffs.Blackmac wrote: Sat Apr 29, 2023 5:23 pm Our teams just struggle to perform under any real pressure.

Noticeably tightened things up at about 50 minutes. Still trying to keep things flowing but far more measured in the passing and offloading. Discipline needs to be tightened up because it's all that made a 5 try to 1 game look tight.Tichtheid wrote: Sat Apr 29, 2023 6:44 pmKingBlairhorn wrote: Sat Apr 29, 2023 6:02 pmThey had a fair wobble but seem to have sorted themselves out. When Glasgow stopped trying for the miracle score off absolutely everything and stuck to good phases and set piece they were streets ahead in that game.
The first try after half time was superb, hard yards, make ground, good ruck speed and the gap opens up, that was one of the best tries I've seen this season, nothing fancy about it, just excellent top level rugby.
We always complain about Scottish players lacking composure etc. but playing knockout rugby helps develop all that.dkm57 wrote: Sun Apr 30, 2023 11:15 am Reckon the remaining 2 (hopefully more) games to the end of the season will do the Glasgow squad a lot of good regardless of the results.
I've been across for a couple of Ireland games and I flew in and out of Belfast. I don't know what time the game is, but if it finishes at a reasonable time then get the train down and back and you'll avoid most of the gouging I would think.Biffer wrote: Mon May 01, 2023 5:44 am Good luck to anyone going to Dublin for the final. You'll get flights and tickets easily enough, but you get ripped off for hotels.
Yep, look for Hotels on any of the train stops on the Dublin-Belfast lineKingBlairhorn wrote: Mon May 01, 2023 11:30 amI've been across for a couple of Ireland games and I flew in and out of Belfast. Does this mean the head coach situation is sorted then? Can't imagine they would extend the contracts of the current assistants without knowing who was coming in.westport wrote: Tue May 02, 2023 12:47 pm Edinburgh Rugby Forwards Coach Stevie Lawrie today extended terms with the capital club, penning a new one-year deal.
Lawrie joined the club’s coaching staff as Assistant Forwards Coach ahead of the 2019/20 season before being promoted to Forwards Coach in 2021/22.
Under Lawrie’s tutelage this season, Edinburgh had the most successful scrum in the URC, while retaining the second-most lineouts in the championship.
Lawrie will return as Forwards Coach alongside Defence Coach Michael Todd, with the club currently recruiting for a new Head Coach to lead the capital side into the 2023/24 campaign.

Not yet and while it is tight for most folk the basic cost of a Season Ticket will not increase in 2023/24.robmatic wrote: Tue May 02, 2023 12:59 pmDoes this mean the head coach situation is sorted then? Sounds like they could be going for someone who becomes available after the World Cup, if it's someone who is not going to be around for pre-season.Jock42 wrote: Tue May 02, 2023 2:07 pmNot according to Douglas Struthrobmatic wrote: Tue May 02, 2023 12:59 pmDoes this mean the head coach situation is sorted then? Head Coach appointment
Another ongoing process is the recruitment of our new Head Coach, with Mike Blair having taken the positive, brave, and proactive decision to step back from the role at the end of this season. A huge thank you to Mike for all his efforts over the past two years.
The quality of interest in the Head Coach role has been excellent. While we would hope to conclude this process very soon, it is important for the future of the club to get this right, and not to rush. For that reason, Steve Diamond has agreed to oversee the start of our pre-season programme until at least August.
This allows us to take the necessary time to appoint a permanent Head Coach, safe in the certainty and security that a coach of Steve’s quality and experience is leading from the front meantime, accompanied by the stability of existing assistant coaches Michael Todd and the recently re-signed Steve Lawrie.
I wonder if they will recategorise like Glasgow did a few years ago and leave the terrace and bronze tickets the same price. But introduce a new banding for Platinum for the best tickets, or have they already got a platinum group?westport wrote: Tue May 02, 2023 2:34 pmNot yet and while it is tight for most folk the basic cost of a Season Ticket will not increase in 2023/24.robmatic wrote: Tue May 02, 2023 12:59 pmDoes this mean the head coach situation is sorted then? That's a really good piece of work , and on a confirmed two year deal as wellclydecloggie wrote: Wed May 03, 2023 2:02 pm Seb Cancelliere staying at Glasgow. Great news, he's a brilliant winger. Glasgow are really light on wingers, especially with Cole Forbes leaving at the end of the season. It is the one major area that Glasgow could do with strengthing.
Saying that , seeing Johnny Matthews sprinting to score that try against the Dragons , a Scouser Lomu perhaps
