My wife thinks it is a Kia. This lady is tall so higher cars are no problem to her. I tore my quadriceps tendon a couple of months ago, and find it a lot easier to get in and out of my 2002 Honda minivan than my daughter’s Jetta.Niegs wrote: Sat Feb 27, 2021 10:30 pmWhat kind? My gran is 82 and finds it tricky to get into her Ford Explorer. Banged up her shin a month or so ago and, having some paper thin skin issues, tore it up pretty bad.Fangle wrote: Sat Feb 27, 2021 7:48 pm My wife’s friend has just traded in her small car for an SUV. Which is clearly listed as a rationale for buying one earlier. I know most owners of these things drive like disabled octogenarians but the actual incidences of being physically in that state are rare.Fangle wrote: Sat Feb 27, 2021 7:48 pm My wife’s friend has just traded in her small car for an SUV. We bought a small Range Rover. a) because we liked it b) because I wanted a vehicle that my 94 year old mum could get in and out of. I'd like a bigger one, but can't really justify it - we have 3 vehicles and only do about 5K per year in all of them combined (even less since Covid)Torquemada 1420 wrote: Sun Feb 28, 2021 1:35 pmWhich is clearly listed as a rationale for buying one earlier. I make sure my carbon footprint is lower than John Kerry’s.
That’s my only measure of whether I’m doing my part.
