The Cheetahs don't have the luxury of the big money bag franchises like the Stormers.OomStruisbaai wrote: Mon Mar 08, 2021 5:50 am Will the Cheetahs play for a win again tomorrow or will they use the game to bred young ones like the other big franchises?
Good post. I really feel for the Cheetahs, but like always, the youngsters will make sure they are there or thereabouts. I just wish they can get a proper management in place.Chilli wrote: Mon Mar 08, 2021 6:17 amThe Cheetahs don't have the luxury of the big money bag franchises like the Stormers.OomStruisbaai wrote: Mon Mar 08, 2021 5:50 am Will the Cheetahs play for a win again tomorrow or will they use the game to bred young ones like the other big franchises?
The Cheetahs only have enough players for 1 team.
The Stormers have so much money that they can afford to keep on paying players like "the best side stepper in the world" and not have him play. They have so much money they can buy players like Von Wolhuter back from France. They have so much money that they can tell an investor with R100 million to voetsek. They have so much money that they don't refurbish their stadium, the just abandon it and move to a new one.
How can the Cheetahs compete against a super Union like that?
Agreed. Just not the Stormers type management.handyman wrote: Mon Mar 08, 2021 6:39 amGood post. Cheetahs got their coach and most players from WP. So you should be rather thankfull iso disrespectfull. Will awies give the younger ones an oppertunity? He must think long term iso overusing Springbokke like Frans Steyn. It's the youngsters....we just acquired a strong new front row. That's the exciting news. These matches are meaningless so they give the lighties a run on and a few players like Pepsi and Fassi who need game time. Chait gets to play at 10 and you will probably see a new number 10 next week. The real number 1 side is practicing for the next tournament. I am sorry but the only one that benefits from these matches are the coaching staff. And the medical staff watching certain players fitness. For us supporters, we want to see the big team in action against the NH...with a strengthened from row we are going to make one hell of a challengeassfly wrote: Mon Mar 08, 2021 11:26 am Sharks putting out a similar team for tomorrow night
I assume that we'll start playing our best XV after this match, as arguably they need more game time than the youngsters.

Its like watching school rugby as a curtain raiser before a Superrugby match. You have a choice. Either braai and kuier during that time in preparation for the main game or watch it out of boredom ... it is a great opportunity however for teams with issues to try combinations out.handyman wrote: Mon Mar 08, 2021 2:45 pmI agree re the fact that this is only warm ups, the results are meaningless.Sards wrote: Mon Mar 08, 2021 2:35 pmIt's the youngsters....we just acquired a strong new front row.
