Bulls-Cheetahs game cancelled

The Carling Currie Cup match between the Vodacom Bulls and Toyota Cheetahs has been cancelled after a positive Covid test in the Cheetahs camp.

SA Rugby are set to make the announcement on Tuesday morning, but the news has been confirmed by both the Bulls and the Cheetahs.

Because of the cancellation, the Bulls will be awarded four log points and the Cheetahs zero, and the game will be deemed a 0-0 result.

The positive test comes in the front row, and as a result of Covid protocols all three front row forwards have to go into isolation, and being a specialised position, the Cheetahs don't have the resources to replace these players.

In addition to this the Cell C Sharks-DHL Western Province game is set to be moved forward, thanks to new Level 4 regulations as announced by President Cyril Ramaphosa on Sunday night.

Because of the curfew that is imposed at 9pm, the planned 7pm kickoff is no longer feasible. SA Rugby are due to make an announcement on Tuesday about a new kickoff time, which is set to be brought forward.

The Cheetahs fielded a side comprising of 13 debutants against Griquas last week because of positive Covid cases in the camp.

WP making a massive mistake selecting Swiel against him. Curwin will win this kickathon coming up. They should selected Abner and play flat in his channel.
