Fitting finish really. Entertaining but poor quality game

Ali Price going for the record "how many times can I kick the ball away in the final 3 minutes whilst we are a score down" record
He's quite possibly the thickest player I've ever seen.TheNatalShark wrote: Sun Mar 14, 2021 4:53 pm Ali Price going for the record "how many times can I kick the ball away in the final 3 minutes whilst we are a score down" record
So I squares up, casual like.

Worst performance since Ire at RWC, line-out debacle, should have lost by more
Since he turned full time pro, Cherry has been very, very reliable. Line out was one of the main reasons Turner didn't break through at Edinburgh.I like neeps wrote: Sun Mar 14, 2021 4:19 pmBecause our 30 year old hooker on the bench was playing semi pro rugby until 2 years ago and isn't very good either.TheNatalShark wrote: Sun Mar 14, 2021 4:18 pm Turner has fallen apart.
How is he still on the field.
And are there two g’s in Bugger Off?

Scotland did not want this test. Box kick with a few minutes to go?
Not even the first time. Price did something very similar against Wales.OomStruisbaai wrote: Sun Mar 14, 2021 5:11 pm Scotland did not want this test. Box kick with a few minutes to go?
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

That's not one I'll be watching again. We've got to be the worst attacking team in tier 1.
Taghd has more stepping than the backline...Uncle fester wrote: Sun Mar 14, 2021 6:07 pm That's not one I'll be watching again. We've got to be the worst attacking team in tier 1.

An elegant phrase, under the circumstancesfishfoodie wrote: Sun Mar 14, 2021 4:47 pm
Something to do with an Ireland attack with the penetrative prowess of a mayfly

The thing that kills me is that ,you could understand it; if the Provinces play the same way; but none of them do. It's solely down to the Ireland setup, that they're so hapless in attackUncle fester wrote: Sun Mar 14, 2021 6:07 pm That's not one I'll be watching again. We've been like this since forever. Even during Joe's good years, we struggled on the creative front.fishfoodie wrote: Sun Mar 14, 2021 6:14 pmThe thing that kills me is that ,you could understand it; if the Provinces play the same way; but none of them do. No shit, Sherlock. Some days I would give anything not to care any more. Today is one of them. They fall pretty regularly on 6N weekends, oddly enough.

For all the talk about Scotland, the genuine lowlight of this match must surely be when CJ Stander ended up in space with a runner in space next to him & about a 4-man overlap, only to sort of amble forward in panic and then throw a miss-pass to absolutely no-one. Most props would've done better.
Chin up mate, at least we have the annual cripple fest to look forward to next week ;)

Italy need a few years of player resources luck.
Just a few top class players in the same crop, same year.
A team with Parisse, Troncon, Bergamasco, Dominguez like talent would backbone a competitive side and uplift the rest, the resulting good wins and competitive near losses would capture the next generation, then the ball is rolling.

Everyone is slating the Sco v Ire game but I quite enjoyed it as a classic 6N dog fight between 2 evenly matched sides.

Great post, Cliveclive wrote: Mon Mar 15, 2021 4:43 pm I like the Irish loop around back play, never seen it before, in all seriousness, neither Ireland or Scotland have attacking flair like Wales and France.
Dogshit of a contest.

It was a classic in the sense that you couldn't pick a winner both sides were abysmal, Scotland have just got worse as the nations have gone on and Ireland are still doing back moves from 1821.fishfoodie wrote: Mon Mar 15, 2021 5:29 pmTorquemada 1420 wrote: Mon Mar 15, 2021 4:45 pm Everyone is slating the Sco v Ire game but I quite enjoyed it as a classic 6N dog fight between 2 evenly matched sides.seek help !

I don't think anything can Wales from winning the championship but I hope France bounce back and give them the beating that both 14 man sides at full strength would have done as would England without having had a 14 point gift from the Rf to overcome. It will prevent a Poundland GS at least.

I think as before with Scotland, England and Ireland, the hype around France will pop.
What a terrific generation of players Wales has had.
Will it be 5 grand slams and one championship?
Will England come fourth?
Just hope we can put the nastiness and bickering aside and appreciate what a bunch of working class, comprehensive educated kids can achieve, against over priviledged arsewipes..and their parents who pay 20, 30 40 grand a year for their precious darlings to go to snob school
If I was a working class Englishman I would support Wales.
