After reviewing the holiday snaps last night I am seriously on this now….

Some great tips in here but I think for me I’m going to knock the booze on the head for a while, cut out crisps and chocolate, cut down on bread and pasta and make sure I’m doing some form of exercise at least once a day.

Feel I’ve go the bit between my teeth so let’s see!

Fairly sure my belly and muffin tops have grown a bit over the last month or so, haven't been doing any rugby, since I got tendonitis in my achilles. Proper training is starting again next week, whilst touch continues on thursdays. Going to try and get back to it, hopefully without another flare up. That should help with keeping things in place at least.

Be careful! It's very easy to strain your lower back if you swing them too far away from your body.

Yeah, make sure you check out Pavel Tsatsouline's Enter the Kettlebell video on youtube first, comrade.

Weight loss has stalled again at 17 and a half stone, but my waist keeps shrinking. 36" is what I'm looking at now (a year ago I was a very tight 40")

Cheers Fatcat, already had checked a few vids, technique is to use the hips to push the kettlebell up and not the back, have done a few sessions now, no back pain

Weight only tells half the story, clothes size never lies. so you are on the right track .

Jeans were getting tight around 2 months ago, so I cleaned up my diet. No change to exercise levels.

I think of it this way - a simple chocolate bar is the equivalent to 20 minutes tough cardio (running or cycling) with sweat dripping everywhere and gasping for breath. Which do I prefer to avoid? I'll just skip the chocolate bar

Muscle is half the bulk of fat so as you lose weight and add muscle you shrink even if you are not losing much weight!

Also muscle in turn helps you burn more calories
