Well done Ireland, not at their best but still too good.
Well done Barnes, still the best ref
He was good for the majority of the match but I thought he lost the plot a bit at the end. Didn't penalise Ireland for not retreating 10, allowed POM to drag the SH into a maul. Penalised the pick and drive when they did exactly what he instructed them to do and then allowed POM to jump into the tackle. Consistency has always been his problem,
Just on the last two there - I don't know how you can argue the arrived on their feet - the instant contact was made the latcher fell to the ground, and most importantly, fell on the Irish side of the ruck - textbook example of what not to do, especially when you are told not to do it just a few seconds before.
On the POM jump, I get the dislike of it, I'm not a fan either, but its not the same thing as jumping into the tackle. He would have to have the ball in his possession and then jump to evade the tackle. In this he is jumping to catch a pass - how you would argue that jumping to catch a pass should be judged differently to jumping to catch a kick I'm not sure. It's an oddity certainly, but it is definitely not jumping into the tackle.
Of course POM tucking his knees up as he is jumping to catch the ball is...odd...to say the least.

It’s like Lee Byrne’s trick of jumping for the ball with one leg stuck straight out in front of him. It was obviously dangerous play but never penalised once.

Not to rub in some salt but fuck me Scotland Under 20s look terrible. Half expect to see Dan Parks at 10 the way they’re shaping up

No wins in the last 10 and haven't looked like winning any of them.
