This one always looked tight. How long can Tasman under perform for. Also that Makos back 5 looks as dangerous as anything in the comp: even with Reece at FB.

Tasman win a scrum penalty and their backs jizz all over them.
When I am King of the World they will be dressed in nappies and shot for doing that.

With fwd domination and this set of backs, hard to see why the Makos are having a bad start to the season.

Reece dived in with both feet into that tackle and yet he is awarded the penalty

Makos have had what rub there has been in the decisions. Good game though.

As an aside, I'm loving the comp this year. So much closer across the board with even Cant getting turned over and only Turbos looking totally adrift.

Me too Torq, I was always a forward and if any back had ever run in to slap me on back etc because I did job well , I would of told him to f*** off back out to where fairies stand and get ready to do his job. Something that has rubbed me wrong way for quite sometime.

Excellent effort by Taranaki to hold on there. Won that with their D.
Went up to game, really enjoyed it. Naki boys weren't going to accept a loss you had feeling being there, and were dead on their feet at end of game. I thoroughly enjoyed it as did Mrs Dan regardless of weather, wasn't too bad really just drizzle while we at game. Mrs is starting to see why I love going to games so much, as in Aussie used to go with mates, and started dragging her along to a few now we back home.
I will add the people at games help, I know it only a little thing, we were sitting on one of the embankments and a bit of wind came up. fella sitting next to my Mrs offered her his umbrella as protection from wind, she said she didn't need it, but a small thing can make you think shit people are ok!!

He's an outstanding prospect, for sure.
Possibly. But on the evidence of that game, Canterbury need the here-and-now of McAlister back pronto. And Gallagher (despite the poorly-prepared commentary team repeatedly thinking he was Gardner).

Southland missing the last pass on several occasions that could have yielded tries.

BOP did well there din't they? I thought after 30 minutes it was all the Aucks, but there something sepcial about this comp when so many teams don't read the script! Has been good day so far wandered down torugby ground here in Hawera to watch the Taranaki U16 trial match, (support a kid who lives over the road) and that just reminded me we still got young uns coming through with good skills etc, followed by Auck/BOP.

I hate the blatant time wasting before lineouts, and the Poo are really bad. All the ref needs to do is warn the team to join the lineout and give a free kick to the other team if there is no immediate response.

Back to the bad old days? How many line breaks butchered in 1st half and lose from 10-0 up?

I actually think that BoP had more clean line breaks that the Orcs through the entire game.

Just caught up with Turbos v Magpies.
1) Just how fast is the Turbos' hooker?
2) BOK has had a shocker with the whistle. Weber lost the ball for his try and a Turbos' player clearly taken out in the air to create another. How did Parsons not see red.. after he saw red?
In real time, you could understand getting things like this wrong. But not with the aid of replays.

Double header tonight: Tasman hosting Canterbury at 5:30, then Waikato vs Manawatu in Kirikiriroa at 7:30.
BBBR making his comeback in the Magpies' shield defence against NH tomorrow.

And it results in another try: although Makos hard done by as one Cant clearout blatantly in from the side and Aumua had won the turnover at the ruck.

All in the timing and the call could have gone either way
