Actually, it is quite amazing that the two sets of fans you'd perhaps least expect it from as a naive Glasgow rugby fan (Munster and Saffers) have been so gracious in defeat over the last two weeks. Helps restore some belief that 'rugby values' actually exist and are not a complete load of bollocks.
2024 URC final Bulls vs Glasgow
Awesome to hear.Dogbert wrote: Mon Jun 24, 2024 2:59 pm I was lucky enough to get the Loftus Versfeld to see Glasgow lift the Championship - to a man /woman , all the Bulls fans we met were fantastic and all were congratulating us on the Glasgow performance - not always easy considering that the Bulls have been two finals without lifting the trophy. Being a Glasgow supporter we know well how hard that can sting at the time.
Bulls were unlucky with injuries to Willie le roux & having Cameron Hanekom limp off in the second half - he's some player & only just 22. I have no doubt Trophies will come for the Bulls, I only hope not at the expense of Glasgow
Ruan Nortje words at the end of the game were both generous & magnanimous - Classy man / Classy player.
One of my (many) memories of the trip to RSA was the experience of the atmosphere at Loftus - truly awesome - nothing like that in the Northern Hemisphere
Good luck next season - lets hope for another Warriors / Bulls final - though I'm sure the Bulls fans would hope for a different outcome

Steady....we're playing each other twice in July.Slick wrote: Mon Jun 24, 2024 3:20 pm Maybe with the near constant humbling of the Irish now and the Saffers beginning to adapt to life in the real world this is a turning point for rugby values.
Oh christ I forgot that!

Nice to hear this from you. The biggest complaint from the non URC lot (Spivs and French) against South Africa playing in NH was visiting here.Dogbert wrote: Mon Jun 24, 2024 2:59 pm One of my (many) memories of the trip to RSA was the experience of the atmosphere at Loftus - truly awesome - nothing like that in the Northern Hemisphere
I went to Loftus a lot wearing WP/Stormers jerseys all life. Never had any problems. Always just good banter and beers afterwards.OomStruisbaai wrote: Mon Jun 24, 2024 3:08 pm They are not that kind to WP and Stormer supporters. Back in my army days they throw us with naartjies. I didnt mind because I was hungry.
Even after that heated "Luke Watson" match.
My old man has made a point of watching at least 1 rugby match (Currie Cup or higher) at every stadium in South Africa.
We went to watch Valke vs Bulls at Bosman Stadium in Brakpan FFS!
The only stadium were he has ever gotten into any conflict was at Newlands.
His best experience was a Kings Park.

The better team won and it's better for the URC that they won.OomStruisbaai wrote: Tue Jun 25, 2024 11:25 amboere wors wrote: Tue Jun 25, 2024 10:45 amYou are a sad manCalculon wrote: Tue Jun 25, 2024 10:30 am As a weepee supporter I'm fucking delighted that Glasgow wonI really hoped the Bulls would won but they played so kak. Sadly for me the best team won and I never mind losing to the better team. That is when it isnt the Stormers or Springboks.
