I can’t unsee that now
I’m just imagining him in the scrum muttering ‘yes, precious, horrible hookerses will steal my precious’

Kinghorn asks Allan if he is okay and he replies in a perfect Scottish accent.

"I've got a funny feeling"? How obvious does Pearce want to make it that he doesn't want Scotland scoring tries?

Good win that. Italy are improving, we’ve got a lot of injuries, bonus point away from home.

I don't think the ref saying he has a funny feeling it's a knock on is even remotely anti Scottish.

Great win. Didn't really play well. Conceded so many turnovers and penalities. But scored four good tries and did well.

Talk about a game of two halves. I'll take a BP win any day against such a good Italian peformance.

Doesn't mean much when you lose, but well played Italy.

Not sure what to say about that ref. Prick fancies himself just a bit.

I know, but he could hardly bloody walk. Clearly a bad knee knock but it's a stretch to say it was a blood injury, it was a bad graze. Just making a mockery of the rule.

From the way he was handling it at first 8 thought he’d dislocated it.

We were poor in the first half, but much improved in the second. Solid performance and the 3rd and 4th tries were excellent (missed the 2nd due to the internet going down). Can’t believe they called the 4th on-field as a loss of control - Turner clearly had it under complete control all the way down. Fortunately the TMO put them right.

Weir had a good game over the piece.

Italy were excellent in the first half - we had a strong XV out and they controlled the game.

I’m still pissed off about the scrum 5 given against Hogg for the ‘carry-over’. It clearly wasn’t. He had his eye on the ball the whole time and waited until it crossed before diving on it.
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

Congrats Scotland, not your prettiest win against us but the best team won (just)

Some positives we can take, the young players played all played well, FS should definitely keep faith in them.

More than a few negatives. After a great first half the second half was the same dross that we have come to expect.

Polledri getting injured is a huge loss, if is out for the tournament then Smith absolutely has to recall Sergio.

Steyn is a joker all he seems to do is get into fights with the opposition

On its own perhaps not. But in alliance with a failure to penalise a neck tackle on Graham or the two NFL blocks in the lead up to an Italian try, all while penalising Scotland at every opportunity; and with a very one-sided pen count in his sole previous match reffing Scotland, it does seem a rather inappropriate way to make the on-field decision "no try" (i.e. if there hadn't been a clear view of Turner's grounding it wouldn't have counted).

Overall I think you can take a lot of positives from your last couple of games. Really impressive stuff today at times.

Italy were good, definitely on top for much of the match, the scoreline flattered us, the young Italian players bode well for the future

I don't think there could be anything anti Scottish about it but it certainly made him look a bit foolish when you see how controlled the try was.

I’ll tell you what is really anti-Scottish, and that’s all of the comments on the BBC match report. There seem to be a lot of disappointed Italians registered on the site.

Just finished watching the second half now, saw the first live but then had fatherly taxi duties to attend to. Glad I did.

Well done Italy much improved first half, you just fell off the pace when we upped it in the second. Onwards and upwards plenty of positives for both teams

Italy looked pretty good that first hour - good players playing to a good game plan.

Fell apart in the last 20, but once again Scotland showed uncharacteristic maturity in taking that game and closing it out like they did.

We need a brain fart loss soon - I can't stomach getting my hopes up again.
