I don't think this is as ridiculous as it sounds. Pumas always have one of those performances in them. If SA start fast the Argies could quite easily ship 50+.
We'll know in the first 10 mins.

If the Pumas are able to contain our lineout-maul then we don't have a shot. If they can't we can milk them over and over and grind them down and then chuck the ball around later on.

Going to be a tall order though. The largest margin a Nienaber team has achieved was 31 points against Georgia.

One thing that struck me was that despite being stomped on by the Aus backrow in the first 15~20 mins, our backrow really came into its own as the match progressed, though I am not convinced about Akira Ioane at 6.

Pussy!

I've just checked the odds. Boks winning by 40+ is a third of what it was, not much value in it given what the bet is. Boks are overwhelming favourites now, a lot of people out there must be confident.

So you're saying I shouldn't bet my entire life savings on this?

If you did, you'd be a braver man than I.

Is it doable, sure. This team just has no form of coming through when presented a challenge like this.
They can grind out an ugly win, but they lack the killer instinct and surgical accuracy needed IMO.

With Steyn probing corners and if our lineout and maul is on song we might be able to get a bunch of maul tries. What are the odds on Marx and Bongi scoring a more than 2 tries each?

Am I the only one that gets goosebumps everytime our anthem is sung in a stadium like that?

Fuck I hope that never goes away!

Wtf has happened to Argentina’s discipline. Last couple of matches it’s like they have gone back 5 years.

TMO ruled that Etzebeth handed off the ball to Kolisi and then ripped it off him again while being in front of him in the maul.

Was a tough call as one couldn't really see if Eben ever completely let go of the ball, but the call is what it is.

Something I've noticed doesn't happen anymore, is people asking for links to live streams, so let me be the first...

Does anyone have, or know of, a working link?

Argies keep giving tthe Boks linelines but they just don't convert them into pressure and points.

Should've been up by 14 points by now.

Argies get a yellow. Kremer off for 10 mins.

Frans had some amazing outings at 10 for the Sharks, but one of the single worst performances I have ever seen from a player was when he was selected as a 10 for the Barbarians.

After seeing that performance I've always been a bit apprehensive when Frans slotted in at 10.

Indeed. Can't even blame it on not being used to the position. It's basics FFS.

Yep, pretty much going as I expected...bar Frans kicking like a moron.

We are killing them in the set pieces but just can't convert our visits into points. Been an issue all year for us. We are a one-trick-pony, but it's a super effective trick.

Argies get another yellow for repeated infringements in the red zone. It's how they've sniffled our momentum in a couple of games over the last few years. They'll keep bleeding penalties and cards all match long because they know we don't have the attacking nous to exploit their numbers across the width of the field.

At least they are keeping the ball in hand, unfortunately no composure to go with it.

14-0, 30 mins gone.

Hope we can get the bonus point banked before half time. We've been squeezing, but not been as ruthless as we need to me.

Lood, your beard looks kak.

My son was approved the other day to go to Lood's alma mater. Couldn't go last year as his Afrikaans was not good enough, so he had to do a year of home schooling in Afrikaans.

We live about 2km away from the school.

Not sure if I want my son to play rugby for them, how the hell must I support that do? (I was in what was then their arc rivals) :ugeek: :wtf:

,Nah, don't worry I'll support the school. Hope he plays)

It doesn't look great, but it looks worse without it. The man has a weak chin and very round face.

Jesus bunch of Frans haters on here. Worse than heyneke meyer. Dda still can't fucken pass to another player. Willie at 15 can't catch a fucken up n under, marx skew throws and penalties, our pack just got mauled for 20 metres, but yeah, Frans Steyn is the problem.

He does have a baby face. Especially for us tappets from Springs.

His school photo is on the wall of achievers of old boys/ girls. Back then he looked even less like a rugby player.

Happy we took that penalty. Should have taken some of the earlier one.

Getting 3 tries wasn't going to be the challenge, getting 40 points is.

And we are just as like likely (perhaps more likely) to convert 10 penalties into 30 points with kicks, than to score 4 tries from them for 28 points.

Oh ffs Argies, you're not supposed to do that.

Gold watches all round wasn't enough

Argies score a try to move the bonus point try back by one and the scoreboard points needed back by 7.

17-7 going into halftime.

Boks playing shit. We don't deserve the trophy.

Boet, he kakked away 3 penalties and cost us a ton of momentum. But I agree, he is hardly the only problem.

DDA should just fuck off. I'm tired of his ball hogging and when he's not doing that he's putting in 'n shit kick. Just fuck off. I'd rather have Frans or Willemse at 12 or give Esterhuizen some game time there. DDA is a waste of a jersey; his one or two crashballs per game don't justify his continued inclusion.

The giant 2001AD tombstone that's appeared in the south stand is giving me bad vibes.

Boks have a new maul tactic close to the line, they keep it at the front old style so there's less ground to cover to the line. Not sure the one the ref cancelled should've been, the other one using the tactic Siya scored.

That Pumas try was damaging, Boks had done the minimum needed before that. It'll be hard now. Best hope is that Pumas tire in the 4th quarter and the Boks run over them.

Can't see us opening up a points gap in the last quarter. The pace of the game is too slow.

I understood slowing down the tempo against the Lions in 2021 because our conditioning was so shit compared to theirs, but it's like our team has never managed to get back to our 2019 conditioning in Japan. It was the combination of brutality and tempo that just made everything we did so relentless.

That's gone now. Now we just play penalty to penalty and the opposition knows this.

That's the tournament. Terrific try by González Samso.

Now we just have to try and win the match.

Kwagga and Duane on. PSdT and Jasper Wiese off.

Pity, Wiese was the best Bok on the park today. We need the tempo up, Duane won't do that.
