Although I also agree that everything to do with GB News should be slung into a pit and set on fire

Ban them and put down all of them today.
These dogs are like guns. Not dangerous until they go off in your face. A Labrador or pointer can never be that dangerous.
Point of Order !
Labs bite more people every year than any other breed.
It's always down to the owner !
Yes some breeds can do more damage than others, but the reality is that, so called dangerous breeds, are sought out by dirtbags, to use as weapons, or perverse status symbols, & as a result these animals are put in the worst possible atmosphere.

Mate. No-one ever got killed or even seriously maimed by a lab. Or a spaniel. Or a beagle. A really dangerous breed is just that: dangerous and eventually someone dies.
Take the weapon off the market permanently. That way those dirt bags you mention can’t hurt anyone.

I'm sure I've said this before on here, but an RSPCA guy told me that if you are looking at problem dogs you are looking at the wrong end of the lead.
Also, I think the bite numbers by Labs is probably down to sheer weight of numbers, aren't there are more of them than any other breeds?

Obviously you’re slightly joking I assume.
If there were as many of these things as there were labs, that would be a fair comparison. But it would definitely not be more labs biting if that were the case.
And then look at the seriousness of the wounds. These things are genetic psychopaths. Even though there is such a tiny proportion of these things, they contribute significantly to hospitalisations. And that’s despite there being so few of them compared to other breeds.

If you were on the fence about these creatures, this is the final straw.
These things need to be put in a pit and set alight.
Fair play to the dog, they were around his neck as he was sat in an ice bath..
You may mock the stupidity of freezing one’s balls off , but …
Actually I have nothing …

Having said that, I worked on farms and elsewhere that had security dogs, GSDs. I was fine with them. The first time I knew I was outgunned was when I encountered two Rottweilers, I knew that if they turned on me I would not stand a chance, it's the same with these Bully XLs. I'm happy enough with Staffies and the like, not these things.

Again, you're focusing on the breed, & not the deed !
Let's look at this with the non-tabloid brain in action, i.e. logically. What is your objective ?, to reduce the number of injuries/deaths from out of control dogs ?
If you want to reduce injuries, you need to make the dog license the equivalent of a driving license with training to make sure the holder is able to manage the deadly weapon they are seeking control over, & have a training program that excludes the dangerous owners, & has tiers of ownership, so that you can't drive a HGV with a learner license.
If you want to stop deaths, then you make RFID tagging & mandatory insurance of dog breeds designated as dangerous a part of ownership, & you do it in a way that is in-forcible, like saying that any dog over a weight of say 25kgs is one that has to be insured, so you stop all this ridiculous bullshit of saying the Bullie-XL is banned, & then someone says their dog is actually a Bullie XXXL so isn't banned.
Also always remember that if you try to ban a breed, then the immediate reaction is for someone to create a new breed; so that in five years time it isn't a an oversize American bulldog, it's a different breed, but the same problem, & that's because the dogs aren't the problem, it's the scum on the other end of the lead.

I took a fair and pure statistical approach and you’ve not remotely addressed it, except to call it tabloid brain. And then posted hypothetical poop.

Drivers with the correct licence and training in cars and lorries still kill people every day. You have to remove the tool that kills the person.
Now, we can't ban cars and lorries, but there is no need for anyone - even Caesar Milan - to have a Bully XL. Ban the breed and cull the remaining dogs.

Save lives.
But what is the, "breed" ?
There's no such thing as a Bully XL, it's a media creation; it's just yet another cross-breed creating an ever larger pitbull. How will you decide what dogs get culled, & which ones are just pitbulls ?
And if you do somehow magically cull them all, do you know what happens next ??
The self same dealers will start again, with a slightly different cross-breed & they'll hype the new breed like a dealer hawking a slightly different drug, & the tabloids will have a new campaign. You'll have achieved nothing except destroying a lot of dogs, & generating an opportunity for the rogue breeders to make a lot more money.

Well d'uh! You also target the breeders and control their trade/jail them. Not hard in 2023 to collect DNA from "dangerous breeds" and track their offspring and shut down dodgy dealers.
Your idea of "licences and training" has a huge hole in it: people are stupid and there are lots of young men with tiny cocks, who want a status symbol straining & snarling off their wrist.... you can't train those cnuts. Ever.
