That sums up the 1st half. Cant have strangled Makos into complete impotency.

Canterbury looking strong, but this one's far from decided.

He’s turning into a very high quality player. He takes good options, his reading of play is good and his technical skills are really solid.

Only saw first half hour and overriding thing from that was seeing how bloody good young Fabian Holland is. I been watching him pretty closely a lot lately, he is the complete package, good size and uses it well, jumps well in lineout, lifts well it seems, he works well in mauls, and generally got a bloody good workrate! And to top it off he run down AJ Lam from behind to tackle him after he made break. A future AB if he wants it I imagine!

Just watching the highlights now, Dan. Any idea why Otago took that defensive 5-metre scrum right on HT?

I saw Holland play in the Christchurch game against HB and again in Inver. against Southland. He must have been initially slated for the bench in the latter one since the ground announcer called him as a late change in the starting lineup. And yes, he impresses.
Appears to have good hands as well - threw some nice passes.
Edit Not Chch. - Dunedin.

That is the one. He clearly tucked his leading arm to his chest, with no attempt to wrap
