Same with both my parents. But for some reason a lot of my American friends got floored by their second jab.

Maybe they are just being pansies. Will see on Friday.

Even less surprising is Handyman welcoming him back as part of the "Elite Posters". Seems you have to be either a relgious nut, or an anti-vax loon to join that prestigious list

I don't care much for WT but I do hope him and Rinkals gets vaccinated. Cov sars 2 is becoming endemic so we are all going to get it eventually, and if you are unvaccinated the first time you get it, it's likely to be a lot less pleasant, especially if you are an older gentleman.

Yeah I know. I think someone dying suddenly and unexpectedly in their immediate family/social circle is the most effective incentive and in the long run will be the only thing that will drive vacc rates. Its endemic and here to stay. I predict fully open societies all over the world by early next year. Its now the responsibility of the individual and not the state.

This is how infectious the Delta variant is. A food delivery at an Auckland quarantine facility seems to be the source of the latest outbreak. NZ have done great so far but they'll be driving their vaccinations hard now.

The Delta variant of the coronavirus that causes Covid-19 was transmitted between two groups of people at Auckland's Jet Park Hotel when two hotel-room doors were open at the same time for just three to five seconds.

Got my second jab yesterday.

Glad it’s done.

Good news.
https://www.msn.com/en-za/news/other/sa ... spartanntp
For those of you fed-up with Level 3 lockdown restrictions in South Africa, there may be some good news coming over the horizon: Regulations could be eased by the end of the week, as our COVID-19 data continues to show promising signs – and a move to Level 2 is looking more and more likely each day.
Latest COVID-19 figures for South Africa
Of course, the pandemic has gone nowhere, and provinces like KZN and the Eastern Cape are still struggling to get their infection rates down. But the overall picture for the country is looking a lot better, as both Gauteng and the Western Cape appear to be over the worst of this devastating third wave.
The Delta-driven resurgence ensured most South Africans would endure a cruel winter. But with a new season, there is renewed hope – and our first full week of Spring could be accompanied by a welcome announcement from the president.
Level 2 loading? Lockdown restrictions could soon be eased
That’s according to the forecasting experts at the Bureau of Economic Research (BER). The group is often spot-on when it comes to predicting changes to South Africa’s lockdown restrictions, and in a press release this week, they stated that ‘positive trends’ were likely to lead to a loosening of the current regulations.
“During the weekly update by the Health Ministry on Friday, the minister stressed that as soon as there is a sustained decrease in infections, it would advise the president to relax these restrictions. Given the recent positive trends in new COVID-19 cases in most provinces, a further loosening of lockdown could follow in the [week ahead] or so.”
Vaccine uptake will soon influence lockdown restrictions
In all likelihood, any step forward is likely to be a cautious one. As we’ve already stated, not every province is in an ideal situation at the moment, and the discovery of the C1.2 variant has the scientific community on standby. A shift to Level 2, therefore, is much more probable than an immediate drop to Level 1.
What is more, a significant proportion of the population is now partially or fully vaccinated. Those who have been double-jabbed, or received Johnson & Johnson’s one-shot vaccine, has reached 25% of all adults. For the first time, Cyril Ramaphosa can consider the impact of vaccines when deciding on the appropriate lockdown restrictions.

The more vaccinated citizens we have, the closer we get to permanently ending lockdowns. Keep at it, Mzansi.

I hope they get it going very soon. My 2nd jab is coming up next week. So I hope they get the stadiums open for vaccinated people before the first home games of the URC. I will be one of the first to get a ticket to go watch the Bulls live again, might just get a ticket to watch the Lions as well, that is how starved i am for live sport.

I heard an interesting thing about anti or non vaxers.
Not getting the vaccine should be actuated to drink driving.

The choice is yours.

Have a few drinks, and stay at home. Ok

Have a few drinks. Get into a car and drive, you become a danger to everyone around you.

Why do we legislate against drink driving , but not the unvaccinated? They are a threat to the rest of us

You lot will appreciate the latest about the curfew and longer alcohol in sitter hours.

We need to drive the vaccines. Even our small towns now have enough vaccines and moved into our townships.

We don't want that 4th peak.

My sister 70 year oldgot Vid but luckily was vaccines. She only had a snotty nose and was sick for a couple of days.

Go on leave, then sick leave, then unpaid until they get vaccinated or covid is thing of the past.

Dividing the work between employees left at work will make for a very unhappy scenario. I feel the same way tho.

Looks like we're firmly on the downside of wave 3. We're going to see high death levels for a fair time still I reckon.

Apart from restrictions on gatherings, nightclubs and sports attendance, we're probably at Texas level non-adherance in the working class communities. Mate of mine spent the weekend in one of the smaller Cape towns killing up the storm in a nightclub until 4am.
