We were inundated with calls laat year from parents wanting photo shoots at the Hotel and on the farm for their daughters Matric dance pre-shoots.

They pay for a day room and come with the dress, hair done, make up artist and photographer. We then charge them a venue hire aa well.

Just this, excluding the dress, must be 10 grand.

Ramaphosa's addiction to EWC is just insane. Signed that into law without even telling the DA he was going to do it, which has forced the DA to take the ANC to court when they're both in government together. Ramaphosa also now has the US breathing down his neck.

This Ramaphosa guy is a domkop, Zuma didn't even go to school and is smarter than this. How he has fucked this up I'll never know, by giving the DA so little power he has ended up with all the same old shit policies and if the DA walks out he has no government.

Even if they walk out of the party of Gnu now, the DA is done as a standalone entity. Their only option is to become the new New NP and get absorbed into the ANC. There is no coming back from this. They should never have agreed on this shit deal to begin with. The ANC only needed them for the numbers, there was never a "work together agenda" They will still push through their bullshit agendas and policies without consulting with anyone and there's nothing the DA can do because they accepted the useless positions that was offered them.

I was hopeful before the deal, then very cautious afterwards. Not voting isn’t going to work, things will definitely not improve dong that. The ostrich move. You have to vote for whoever you think is the least worst, no party is going to be perfect. Not voting DA doesn’t help the DA get the best outcome possible. You also have to remember there’s a lot of apathy, just hanging in helps the DA against other parties. It's just disappointing seeing what SA is getting from the GNU, compared to what it could be getting. That's on Ramaphosa.

I think it’s likely the ANC vote is down, EFF vote down (its losing leaders, they must know they're over), MK who knows, DA volatile and the mood of supporters changing often.

If I was running it my focus would be:
1. Southern Africa.

2. SSA. Which means making money in the places where substantial development is possible (Kenya/Uganda/Nigeria/Ghana/Senegal) and attempting to prevent/control conflict in the other areas.
3. Good relations with the EU/UK. Europe will always be the most important out of region area for SA.
4. Good relations with US and China. Probably not great if a super power decides you're on the hit list. If they had done the previous steps this would matter less.

Everything else is irrelevant. No good can come from any involvement in the ME, it's not our region and we'll never be powerful enough to project any power that far out. Even the strength of a super power has limits and can lose in the ME. Russia has nothing to do with us, last time I checked we traded a lot more with Swaziland (not surprising Russia is on the other side of the world, Russia is a terrible investment prospect for SA money, other than energy nothing Russia produces is that noteworthy and SA gets oil from ME/Africa anyway).

The ANC has basically done the exact opposite. Zim is a place SA has a lot of power over and it's a shambles, there's little SA input into that madhouse. At the same time SA is all over madhouses far away which matter little to SA, where no SA government is ever going to have any power.

Agree with all of that. Stick with the priorities that will benefit South Africa the most. Forget emotions and nice feelings, we've no business in the Middle East.

And drop anything to do with BRICS too, it will cost us much more in the long run. Out of that lot, I'd only stick to improving relations with India.

It's our go to. The owners and I are mates. So we do odd jobs for them and take meals in Leiue of payment so always have a credit there. Their steaks are great and its grilled in a charcoal oven so that further enhances the flavor. For my wife and youngest their Wagua burgers are the best burgers in Cape Town. Very simple burgers just a patty, some garnish and dipping and decent buns. But the execution is the trick. You pay for excellent execution......but on Wednesday they have Wagua Wednesday which is the burger plus chips dripped with Wagua dripping which is the best chips around, all for a very good R95.00 . All their meals are simple with no overcrowded plate making it look a better meal than it is, only relying on the product you are paying for to be the hero. The staff all know my family well there.

But don't just stop there. Around the corner is a pasta restaurant also part of the same group. Scala. If you want a taste sensation that's your stop. Small plates you order as a bundle and get to savor. Highly recommended.

Look. The groups restaurants aren't cheap. But you get what you pay for.

Also part of the group on the same strip is
Nikki. Peruvian, Asian decadence.
Yattai. Ramen heaven.
Burger and Lobster. The Wagua burger with a crayfish twist.
The head chef and I use the same tattoo artist and his brother played cricket with my eldest. He is really a good chef and goes overseas to learn the trade of any new products he introduces so is well traveled.

If you live in the Eastern Cape then everything is expensive in CT.

We went away last weekend to just have a break and recharge the body and mind. We went to the Baths in Citrusdal and soaked in the mineral springs for 3 days. I really felt the difference in my body and skin and could take my mind off all the drama of the cricket season.
Whenever we go away we never take food. We try to support the local restaurants and obviously explore the culinary experiences as part of our holiday experience.

Well. Citrusdal really does not have much to offer. A pity because their local beef is really tasty. We eventually came across Salomis in Citrusdal towards the edge of town close to the country club. What a delicious surprise. Once again very simple done properly. And a good product to work with. These prices were very reasonable. You pay R165.00 for a 300 to 400 gram Ribeye. The same would go for R300 plus in town.

We are at the point where we would rather pay extra to have our food done properly. There is no excuse for a steak not to have sear marks on the surface and a sauce that tastes like it has come from a packet. Unfortunately this is pretty much what we got from the other establishments in the area. It basically was like the farmers wife who has been complimented all her life by her husband and children now subjecting us patrons to her cooking.

Have any of you eaten at The Iron Grill in Bree street?

A mate of mine ate there last week and said that they specialize in Bavette [that is plankie steak to you Oom] and are KAK expensive.
The meat was good but over salty. R200 for a 200g bavette and salad.

Pricey.

It's our go to. The owners and I are mates. So we do odd jobs for them and take meals in Leiue of payment so always have a credit there. Their steaks are great and its grilled in a charcoal oven so that further enhances the flavor. For my wife and youngest their Wagua burgers are the best burgers in Cape Town. Very simple burgers just a patty, some garnish and dipping and decent buns. But the execution is the trick. You pay for excellent execution......but on Wednesday they have Wagua Wednesday which is the burger plus chips dripped with Wagua dripping which is the best chips around, all for a very good R95.00 . All their meals are simple with no overcrowded plate making it look a better meal than it is, only relying on the product you are paying for to be the hero. The staff all know my family well there.

But don't just stop there. Around the corner is a pasta restaurant also part of the same group. Scala. If you want a taste sensation that's your stop. Small plates you order as a bundle and get to savor. Highly recommended.

Look. The groups restaurants aren't cheap. But you get what you pay for.

Yattai. Ramen heaven.
Burger and Lobster. The Wagua burger with a crayfish twist.
The head chef and I use the same tattoo artist and his brother played cricket with my eldest. He is really a good chef and goes overseas to learn the trade of any new products he introduces so is well traveled.

Look I don't understand why people go for Wagu burgers. It is just fatty mince.
