Also can we stop referring to individuals as POC. Its not cool. Kumbirai may be kak at the mo and may never develop. But its a bit dehumanizing to constantly drone on about. We all know the reality on the ground in this country, time to accept and move on. Comment not aimed at you Chilli.
I agree and made the same point yesterday.

I disagree. Yes he had a couple of tough outings early in the season but he steadily improved. And his work outside of the scrum has always been good like tackles, offloads and jackles.
But you've back this horse so I'm not going to change your mind. Continue bashing him by all means. I'm sure he's devastated by your critique.
Some guys recon a prop only needs to be an immovable piece of fat lard in the scrums and nothing ells. They forget that there's more to rugby than just scrums. That's why they rate fat Frans so highly.

Oom we've had quotas in rugby since it was first played here 150 years ago. The quota for a long period of time was zero percent players of colour. Quotas are a white man's invention.

Nah, we rate Malherbe highly because he is by far and away the best tighthead in SA, he was a major part of us winning the RWC. Pretty sure Rassie knows more about tightheads than you.

What's he up to now, is he playing in this tournament or are they resting him? Really need him in top form for the Lions.

He's a great scrummaging prop. He'd be a liability if 8 subs weren't allowed. He also was pretty average as a younger player.

I guess he's resting. From a Bok pov, I think it's difficult as we can't overplay him, but we need him to be as fit as possible.

Not his fault if the laws of the game suits him. A player rising out of the ashes to be a RWC hero, now that's the stuff of dreams.

I believe we've moved past the point were we need to call players quota's as we have really good players of colour who deserve to be there now. But I don't see how in our country were targets are set and pointing out that a player counts towards making those targets is a bad thing. Stating that this player or that player is a player of colour is just a way of saying that he contributes to reaching the targets and has no bearing on his quality as a player. To me it's just stating the fact's.

A props first job is to scrum, then do all the other stuff. Just think back a few years when the Ozzies were picking Matt Dunning at 3. He had great skills but........................had his head shoved up his arse at every scrum.
Would you pick a hooker who can't throw?
Would you pick a 9 who can't pass?
Would you pick a 15 who can't catch?
Du Toit, like Poesklap Oosthuizen, is a very good loosehead but barely an adequate tighthead.

What this? Are we back in 1960? You don't pick a player only on how good he does his core duty anymore. He's a prop, he's supposed to be able to scrum but he also needs to be good at other things and at least fairly competent at the rest. Or ells we could just stick any 300 kilo fat fok of the street in there.

Frans have always been a strong scrummager. I remember when he and Kitshoff started for the Stormers , fresh out of school, a lot of posters from the other board critize the Stormers for allowing such young players playing at S15 level. He and Kitshoff did well on that level since they started. Now they are aged red wine and world class.

To be fair I sincerely enjoyed our season before covid intervened, had a settled pack for once and dominated the league and cup in scrums where we could struggle for parity. Was a joy seeing a knock-on when there wasn't a break on. Not a slur if it works

Played all across the front row. Slimmed down to hooker size and played at 2 into my 40s. My dream position was tearaway flanker but have very few fast twitch fibres in my body.
