This is not really a measure of how good the Boks were tonight. England are a spent force after coming from behind to draw with the All Blacks last week.

Today epitomises Eddie Jones reign. England were 3rd best in every aspect of the game. No plan, no clue no tactics, no attack, no scrum, no lineout, porous defence, no brains.

I honestly thought i had seen the worst England could be, clearly not, today was a new low.

Unless there is a clearout from the top of the shop, we may as well not bother going to France.

May, Nowell, Youngs, Farrell, Billy, Mako, Hill, Stewert should never see an England shirt again.

Curry has been really poor, Itoje not that great either and JVP gets a free paas for now, but he has not been great.

Eddie Jones and his entire coaching team should be loaded into a cannon and shot into the sun.

The Springbok pack plus bench have been dominating in all the NH tests. Add our defense ( we had 14 men vs France aswell). Yesterday I thought that first scrum when Fat Frans destroyed the England lh lay down the Fondation for the Boks. England look totally disordered from then on.

That's a nice sentiment, but it's not looking likely. We won two 6 Nations games in 2021, we won two 6 Nations games in 2022 and the team is now playing worse than it did during either of those tournaments. At the moment I'd say we're looking at that outcome again, but only because Wales are really shit and Italy haven't improved enough to take us on if we treat them seriously.

I hope SA continue to explore this slightly more expansive style with Willemse and Le Roux given license to play more. It's always seemed like you've got the players to play better rugby, but coaches have been afraid to let you branch out.

Faf and Kolbeys place kicking has been brilliant and allow the coach to bring in flare players. Kolisi mention last night , Willie, Damian and KLA are allowed to play on instinct and they just follow.

As a Stormers fan I really love running rugby. We still had the odd box kick but a bit less.

Boks outplayed the English in all facets of the game with excellent performers from starters and finishes barring the red card, with Arendse's and Willemse skillsets showing their worth.

The focus for me is on the hard and solid work laid down and when the red card was implemented, back onto the field came Jozua Francois Malherbe and in my opinion one of the better tightheads South-Africa has produced .

The question is has any loosehead really challenged the 1.9 metre 125 kg at set piece. No, Not really and that's why he is so important to the Boks and with unnoticed work rate with his carrying and cleaning Ruck abilities aswell.

A Paarl Boys high Product who made his debut in 2013 against Wales and continues to impress week after week nearing his 60 "th international cap.

His contribution to South Africa is immense in both styles that the Boks are now playing and understands his primary Role aswell as his role after set piece in both attack and defence.

He's also turned in at a steep angle going at the hooker and got pinged for it iirc.

I really fail to see what Mako brings to the table at all these days. One might argue Billy has some value as a flat track bully against the likes of Japan but Mako is worse than an empty shirt given the importance of the scrum.

He's looked pretty good in the loose, but as you say that's not much use if he's getting folded every time.

I haven't bothered looking into his stats for the SA game, but against NZ he had the second highest metres gained of all the forwards (first being Billy).

However, we also didn't have to do much scrummaging in the time he was on the field in that game which gives him the freedom to put his energy into running around. Unfortunately for him he's a centre trapped in a prop's body and the limitations on his scrummaging have become too severe to risk him. Particularly since England can be relied upon to produce multiple opposition scrums again through knock ons and failing to dig the ball out of a stalling maul.

There was a period where he could at least stay stable for most scrums. Then what he offered elsewhere was awesome. Now he is bad in the scrum and not as good in the loose ( still good though).

It's LCD's signature tackle. It's outrageous it's still allowed, and he does it week after week.

Marler also has a similar technique, but he wraps his arms.
