Pity. Imola is an interesting track and usually has decent racing.
The other talking point is there's going to be a big stink that the 2026 Canadian GP will be on in the middle of the Indy 500, while previously you could fall asleep during Monaco, & then wake up & watch the demolition derby at IMS.

Le Mans looking promising so far; tight competition across all three classes, & so many beautiful cars, there's a puddle of drool forming beneath my chair
It'll be very confusing to the yanks if any of the Cadillac's complete the full 24hrs without breaking down, because that's something none of them have ever encountered in any of the retail versions, but then again the Hypercar version is also better thru the curves than any of their opposition too, & cornering was never a strong point of the brand !
The Ferrari HC is utterly, utterly gorgeous, & the Aston Martin GT3 is a beautiful car too, I even have to say the Corvette looks good too !

If your trying to suggest that Norris is getting preferential treatment compared to your hero, Max, you can stop. The stewards investigated after the race and gave Norris a 5-second penalty for causing a collision.

He is a little bit fortunate that he was classified in the race allowing the 5-second penalty to be served and totally irrelevant.

Naturally, he was classified as in the race. He caused the SC that ended it.

A complete nothing burger of a penalty. If Verstappen had pulled that reckless manoeuvre against Piastri , would you have been happy with a five second penalty - Be Honest

Had that been only Max's 15th such incident perhaps it would have past without murmur, but Max is atop a much higher number, and it's that repeat history which sees Max earn some rebukes (and some praise for the single mindedness which also earns much success)

IIRC causing the accident has nothing to do with being classified? He had completed 90% of the laps allowing his classification, considering how boneheaded the move was the fact he crashed 6 laps from the end rather than 8 was fortunate in that it allows him to be classified and not carry a punishment into the next race.

Verstappen received a complete nothing burger of a penalty the previous round when he DELIBERATELY DROVE INTO A COMPETITORS CAR.
No-one else on the grid comes close to the degree of petty aggression spiking into dangerous acts that Verstappen pulls almost as a matter of course.Everyone can see it. Trying to defend it OR suggest any other driver is guilty of the same thing is
a bit sad.

Congratulations for completely misrepresenting my poststo try to make a point.
At no point have I defended Verstappens crash into Norris, in the same fashion as Senna's crash into Prost in 1990 both were was stupid and unprofessional. However Norris's attempt on the overtake of Piasti was reckless and dangerous at such a high speed part of the circuit.
It merited points on Norris licence

I think given Norris immediately accepted responsibility and apologised publicly on the radio deserves to be treated differently to a sociopath who asks if there is any difference between deliberately driving into an opponent or accidentally doing it after he has just driven deliberately into an opponent.

I have never seen a driver penalised by the Stewards for causing a collision , and the stewards gave Norris a 5 second penalty , without the Stewards also awarding at least one, usually 2 penalty points - that hasn't happened , ever.

To be fair I can't recall many collisions resulting in penalties where there was no damage at all to the car driven into. Was a strange incident all round from Norris effectively panicking into a move that wasn't there to the contrasting states the cars were left it with Piastri not impacted at all and Norris in the wall.

Interesting for McLaren now they can see they're not always the fastest car and Piastri's lead isn't massive that Norris has granted them an easier out for putting one driver ahead of the other, and really Norris can only blame himself

It's a weird thing, this human potential across the globe and amongst us. I remember going upriver in Borneo, Sarawak, to a long house where you could stay for free, just roll in and the tribe'd put you up. That's the communal building where everybody in the tribe lived. I'd pulled down a wicker basket hanging from the roof in the living room as it were, there were a fair few of them, to discover it was full of human skulls. You see grandad in the corner there to get married had to go and get a skull. Yep, actual headhunters. Now the chief of this tribe was barely 2nd generation non-headhunter, and he was one of the most impressive individuals I've ever met in my life. Focused, utterly professional in his demeanour and actions who radiated considered thought and charisma. Handled family disputes, managed the tribes finances and purchases (I met him again when he came down to Sibu for business), education (they got volunteer teachers to come over from Malaysia proper). Spoke a bunch of different languages including English and Mandarin. An extraordinarily intelligent and talented man capable of anything.
His potential was not wasted as it were, but I find it utterly fascinating this source of ability that can be found anywhere amongst anybody. And you have to realize in wars and despotism how much of this goes to waste.
Love this post... mist have been a fantastic trip too...
