Erwee's ton in only his 3 innings loads the pressure on Markram. Imo, it's good thing.

Not many collapses when ex Durban High School boy Hashim Amla was batting. Or Zulu Klusener.

Prefer the Maritzburg boys. Maritzburg and Paarl very similar when it come to schools sport.

So far so good, the Titans are demolishing the Dolphins. Not good though for the few that got tickets to go watch, looks like the game will be over very quickly at this rate

Be sure to ask Russel Domingo who he thinks was the best spin bowler he coached at school level.

School level is easy for spin bowlers. Everyone wants to be the next fast bowler and mostly chubby players spin the ball. You don't get many kids willing to risk their wicket to charge the slow bowlers. Both my boys spin. And yes they are chubby.

Yep - Henry has had some bad luck this innings. That is two dropped and one not attempted passing through the cordon.

261-5. Good start to the morning for NZ barring the dropped chance.

That's been the story of Henry's career, although Taylor was the usual culprit. Southee — who's probably the best seam bowling slipper I've ever seen — doesn't drop many.

This partnership is putting South Africa in a very good position. Roll them for 300 and we’d have been happy enough but they are rattling in the runs and have momentum.

Hundred up for Wagner.

Not sure this short stuff is working, particularly to Jansen.

As I type that, the short ball accounts for Maharaj, so what do I know?

Finally got a good link in time to see Jamieson strike. One wicket to go now after a frustrating partnership

All over with another short one. 364 is a good first innings score.

Sipamla doesn't bother me scorers.

All out for 364.

A bit better than last week, then.

I'm still not sure about Maharaj's inclusion, but at least he got more runs than Verreynne.

It wasn’t like he played a dirty slog - strangled down the leg side always seems a bit unlucky. Sure he could have left it, but saying he chucked his wicket away may be a bit harsh.

Fair comment but he is a good enough batsman not to be caught that way
