After the way the young black English players got grief after the Euro penalties I’d be - gulp - quite happy if they win the thing.

Fabulous goal, albeit after a blatant foul.

England have survived earlier matches where they've handed several chances to the opposition early on. Looked like being the same here, but that was a quality goal

Shit reffing. The break only happens due to a blatant foul.

You go down easily (or whatever you call diving these days) you take the consequences

Hey, if the replays show that's what happened then fine, but it looked like he got fouled twice and the second time he seemed to almost get kicked into the air.

Blatant foul on Kane here but not sure it's in the box.

Pffft. This Fre side is feeble defensively. Especially in the air. And they are too lazy when not in possession which invites oppos to lay on wave after wave of attacks.

Well, the ref didn’t give it, a van full of VAR refs didn’t give it and the English ref commentating didn’t think it was, so not sure it’s blatant…

That Kane one is ridiculous though.

The ref didn't give the Kane one and neither did VAR, so...

Walton did though!

Anyway, apologies, get on with supporting England, not trying to wind anyone up, more a comment on footballers diving generally.

Come on England!

Saka thing is irritating at this point as he rides plenty of shitty challenges. I think part of his problem is he doesn't scream loudly enough or go down easily enough.
The replay shows it is a clear foul on Saka.

France's strategy all tournie
- hope the oppos miss or foul them
- give the ball to Mbappe and hope he can do a Maradonna

My inexpert view - England actually reasonable aside from some weak give aways. France lethal on the counter.

Heh, French player loses the ball in a dangerous area but stays down so the ref stops play. He's fine, of course.

Decent half of football from both teams. Not sure England deserve to be behind, shame they haven't taken any of their half chances.

It's all they have. They have to be the laziest side off the ball in the comp and not much better movement when in possession.

Terrified of pace full stop. And rightly so because if you don' t work hard to press defensively in the middle, you invite attackers on to you with both pace and space. A Charlton or Socrates would have racked up the goals against this Fre side.
