Handyman's trolling is so weak nowadays.
Thanks oom, did not expect that from you.
Up your game Boet.I know you need to change nappies and have a time problem. You just throw hate one liners in nowadays. No discussing or value adding or positives.

People have been complaining about LCD's tackle technique his whole career, I'm not sure if he's actually injured anyone yet, and I believe he nearly always gets his arms up too.
Blimey.

Calling for him to be penalised on lawful tackles is just wrong, call for the law to be changed. No shoulder directly onto the knee or below ( can't say no tackles else you remove the tap tackle).

Back in the day we were coached to tackle low. I don't have a problem with that.

I mean it's a suicidally brave way to tackle.

I think I saw one of him knocking himself out.
But to no avail … he is a front rower.

He rarely does them side on like that, into players already moving at high pace. Danger to himself though. He's done it for seasons, every game, and injuries have been rare.

There have been times when LCD hasn't used his arms in a low chop and that is undeniably dangerous and illegal.
The complaint about the tackle in the SA game makes no sense whatsoever but I guess we have to go through this every time now.

Unless he changes his technique there will always be a suspicion. Wouldn't surprise me if he hurts himself or someone else at some point in the future.

Sure. But he does it a lot and has managed to KO himself once and injure people zero times, from memory. It doesn't actually seem any more dangerous than any other tackle technique.
What surprises me here is people wanking on on the basis of that very confusing clip where he is very obviously not diving at someone's feet. It's actually hard to tell exactly how the player is tackled.

The one against the Boks on Sat? Couldn't figure that one out either. Anyway look, he's not a dirty player, the margin for error in his tackling technique is just bigger versus other more "normal" tackles.

On the face of it that feels true, but... he has nearly 40 caps plus 3 Lions Tests plus god knows how many matches for Exeter. How many 'errors' has he made? A handful where he's not used his arms. How many injuries has he caused? Erm...

Why fanboi? It's the truth. I'm not a big fan of the technique, but it's legal, and considering the amount he's done it, seemingly safe enough.

You're both defending a terrible tackle technique from an average hooker. It's a bit weird.

What was terrible about it? It was legal. He's done it a lot and is yet to injure anyone but himself (when he got it wrong).
I'd be happy to moan about Farrell, and indeed anyone who regularly tackles upright (far too many 10s), who are indeed dangerous and risking concussing themselves and others.

Look I hope you are right, I have absolutely no issue with him as a player. If he does knock himself out cold again, or heaven forbit seriously damages a player's knees, then you can bet your house he will not get a lot of sympathy from a lot of people.

Oh for sure. I will continue to be far more bothered by the upright tackles that frequently lead to brain injuries, but I appreciate that his technique does seem to be more risky to himself (I'm less convinced about the risk to the opposition, honestly).
It is a little strange that people have such a visceral reaction to tackles aimed at the legs...

And the lack of arms... in those tackles in the video he isn't remotely near grasping the player... sort of brings his arms up in a mock tackle technique... wasn't someone carded for doing similar a year or two ago?
Dan Lydiate maybe?
Dan Lydiate has admitted he may have to change his famed chop-tackling technique if he picks up any more yellow cards. The back-row forward was controversially sin-binned for an alleged no-arms, shoulder-first low hit on Edinburgh lock Anton Bresler while in Ospreys' colours last weekend

If he plays against the SA teams he'll learn to tackle the right way.

a while back the Eastern Province Elephants [what a surpise!] had numerous players doing this over a number of games with few resulting in very serious knee injuries, ending the players' season
to my mind this could be a straight red card offence
