All Chiefs final - super.Gumboot wrote: Sun Oct 13, 2024 2:49 am Cantabs win 62-14. Doesn't get much more emphatic than that.
So, SF1 will be Bay of Plenty hosting Canterbury in Tauranga, and SF2 is Waikato at Wellington.

McCaw couldn't even do that. I tells ya - he's a keeper (and a fast bowlerKiwias wrote: Sun Oct 13, 2024 2:16 amHe played bloody well at right wing.Enzedder wrote: Sat Oct 12, 2024 10:48 pm I was getting really "upset" over some of the officials decisions last night. Anyway - anyone see why we think Oli Mathis could be the answer to one R H McCaw in a year or so?

Definitely one to keep an eye on.Enzedder wrote: Sun Oct 13, 2024 3:06 amMcCaw couldn't even do that. Astute as, bro.Jethro wrote: Fri Oct 11, 2024 11:16 pmNot entirely sure I agree there. BOP will be way to good for the Hawkeye Guys and Tasman should be in at a canter against the Cantabs, who lets face it are rebuilding. About the only game that should be tasty is Taranaki vs Waikato, which for mine could go either way though I've pick the Naki on hometown advantage.Dan54 wrote: Tue Oct 08, 2024 7:09 pm Tasty finals aren't they?
Wellington after getting hiding from Counties a week or so back will be right up for it.
Taranaki vs Waikato, inter tribal warfare!
BOP vs Hawkes Bay, we see the battle of who is the Bay for the year!
And Tasman vs Crusaders battle of the Crusaders!!!
Love it!

"his" infatuation? Blackadder was an AB for years before Robertson came along.Gumboot wrote: Sun Oct 13, 2024 1:06 am QF4 between Tasman and Canterbury just about to kick off in Blenheim.
Predictably, Ethan Blackadder is injured yet again.
Shirley it's time for Razor to get over his infatuation with this perennial sick-note and give a more durable loosie a crack?
True dat. He made a handful of starts in 2021, didn't play a single test in 2022 (injured), then replaced an injured Narawa in the RWC squad (after initially missing selection himself... through injury) and came off the bench for 25 minutes against Uruguay. This year, he missed the 2 tests against England (injured), the Cape Town test (injured), and Bled 2 (injured). Now he's injured again, and given his record I wouldn't be surprised if he plays just a limited role (if any) on the EOYT. The guy should have "FRAGILE" tattooed on his friggin' forehead. By now, Razor really should know better than to keep picking him... my "infatuation" jab may or may not have been for dramatic effectCertain Navigator wrote: Sun Oct 13, 2024 7:57 pm"his" infatuation? Anyhoo, I hope he plays well when (if) he does take the field again. I wouldn't mind seeing how he'd go at openside with Sititi at 6 and Ardie at 8, tbh.
Almost as astute as your prediction ... oh wait you didn't make one as usual.Guy Smiley wrote: Sun Oct 13, 2024 6:41 amAstute as, bro.Jethro wrote: Fri Oct 11, 2024 11:16 pmNot entirely sure I agree there. Fun facts:Gumboot wrote: Sat Oct 19, 2024 7:58 am Wellington take it 29-24, and will host the Steamers in next weekend's final.
Steamers won the inaugural competition back in .... 1976 (that took some finding).
Wellington have won the title 6 times to date, last being 2022 (according to wikipedia)
Should be a good final, given up predicting this year's competition as the upsets are still coming.
I could have told you about the BOP inaugural win - at the time I was living in Turangi and for a year or two, we were in the BOP area. Then got shunted to King Country and BOP never recovered.

The 76 win by BOP, they never really got credit they should of for that as the ABs were in SA, and so a lot of teams were weakened etc. Was back in the day when only really tours to SA (or short ones to Aus) effected provincial rugby.Enzedder wrote: Sun Oct 20, 2024 7:04 am I could have told you about the BOP inaugural win - at the time I was living in Turangi and for a year or two, we were in the BOP area.
