Some weird stats out there.

Number of tackles
Tasman 182
Canterbury 29

Cantabs win 62-14. Doesn't get much more emphatic than that.

So, SF1 will be Bay of Plenty hosting Canterbury in Tauranga, and SF2 is Waikato at Wellington.

He played bloody well at right wing.
McCaw couldn't even do that. I tells ya - he's a keeper (and a fast bowler  )

Wellington after getting hiding from Counties a week or so back will be right up for it.
Taranaki vs Waikato, inter tribal warfare!
BOP vs Hawkes Bay, we see the battle of who is the Bay for the year!
And Tasman vs Crusaders battle of the Crusaders!!!

Love it!
Not entirely sure I agree there. BOP will be way to good for the Hawkeye Guys and Tasman should be in at a canter against the Cantabs, who lets face it are rebuilding. About the only game that should be tasty is Taranaki vs Waikato, which for mine could go either way though I've pick the Naki on hometown advantage.
Astute as, bro.

Predictably, Ethan Blackadder is injured yet again.

Shirley it's time for Razor to get over his infatuation with this perennial sick-note and give a more durable loosie a crack?
"his" infatuation? Blackadder was an AB for years before Robertson came along.

True dat. He made a handful of starts in 2021, didn't play a single test in 2022 (injured), then replaced an injured Narawa in the RWC squad (after initially missing selection himself... through injury) and came off the bench for 25 minutes against Uruguay. This year, he missed the 2 tests against England (injured), the Cape Town test (injured), and Bled 2 (injured). Now he's injured again, and given his record I wouldn't be surprised if he plays just a limited role (if any) on the EOYT. The guy should have "FRAGILE" tattooed on his friggin' forehead. By now, Razor really should know better than to keep picking him... my "infatuation" jab may or may not have been for dramatic effect

Anyhoo, I hope he plays well when (if) he does take the field again. I wouldn't mind seeing how he'd go at openside with Sititi at 6 and Ardie at 8, tbh.

Fun facts:

Steamers won the inaugural competition back in .... 1976 (that took some finding).

Wellington have won the title 6 times to date, last being 2022 (according to wikipedia)

Should be a good final, given up predicting this year's competition as the upsets are still coming.

I could have told you about the BOP inaugural win - at the time I was living in Turangi and for a year or two, we were in the BOP area. Then got shunted to King Country and BOP never recovered.

The 76 win by BOP, they never really got credit they should of for that as the ABs were in SA, and so a lot of teams were weakened etc. Was back in the day when only really tours to SA (or short ones to Aus) effected provincial rugby.
