Fattest Frans MOTM
Galant, Jantjies and Augustus were also on form today. 5 key players all playing well. Strengthened even more when Bongi came on.
There’s something to be said about the 2, 8, 9, 10, 15 “spine” all have a good outing. Magical things happen.

Sorry Chilli, I took a lot of vlek for a long time supporting Willemse.
Last night we saw his best game, specially that off load for Gelants try.
It's a case of form is temporary, class permantly.

According to my fellow WP supporter he should now be playing in the NH.
I am sure Kade Wolhuter will push him. The nice thing about both of them is that they are still laaities and can slot in at 10,12 and 15. This put also pressure on Gelant who are in excellent form.
Nel did well last night but surely isn't a wing. Hope we can get Senatla/Petersen back from injury.
Our 6,7,8 also surprise me. Ernst van Rhyn have improved a lot. Trokkie suddenly play to his talent and the Grey laaitie is Yster at the breakdowns.
Out tight 5 is a class one.
This weekend will be a massive game against the S15 Champs.

Only the bad one. I fear he's too soft anyway. Not made from the right stuff. Sad really.OomStruisbaai wrote: Sun Nov 15, 2020 4:37 amWere are only 4 posters, now you want to take one away.handyman wrote: Sun Nov 15, 2020 4:23 am Stormers vs saarkies, cocks on a block ladies, who is up for a month flounce bet?
Springboks, Stormers and WP supporter.

Ja, it looks like they are clicking. The Sharks game will not really be a test for them as the Sharks are an average team with lightweight forwards.OomStruisbaai wrote: Sun Nov 15, 2020 4:03 am According to my fellow WP supporter he should now be playing in the NH.

Gazza / Wazza needs to play at the same standard against the Sharks, Lions and Bulls to remove the doubt from all his below average performances so far.
Well played Stormers, definitely starting to hit their straps now.
That Specman try was incredible. There was absolutely nothing on that finish was simply ridiculous. Frans was pretty awful for the Cheetahs, seemed to drop everything.
I think after this weekend it's a straight shootout between the Bulls and Stormers for the title.

Ja. The rest of us are just here to make up the numbers.assfly wrote: Sun Nov 15, 2020 5:31 am Well played Stormers, definitely starting to hit their straps now.

The Bulls will be weary of the" Magnificent Stormers"( TM Pending.)
South African rugby really needs better broadcasting personalities. Our commentators are utter shit. Especially Warren Brosnihan, he really is unbearable.
Who was that awkward blonde presenter with Schalk Burger? That was utterly painful to watch.
Surely there are other people in SA with some character who can at least make it more interesting to watch, and who are knowledgeable and not afraid to criticise?

One of my biggest bugbears watching SA Rugby. I really only like Pearce and Gavin Cowley. Xhosa commentary also sounded like it was a hoot before the passing of Kaunda Ntunjaassfly wrote: Sun Nov 15, 2020 6:07 am South African rugby really needs better broadcasting personalities. It’s all the former players crowding the commentary booths that are the problem. Brosnihan, Skinstadt, Stransky, Jean de Villiers and in the Afrikaans audio channels Kobus Wiese and Breyton Paulse.
SuperSport really should be investing in a commentator training program to identify talent, rather than just shoving former player “pundits” into the commentator role.
If they were smart, they would crowdsource some talent and open another R-rated audio channel to get a guest commentator from the public. Eventually you will strike pay dirt and find somebody with the gift of the gab that also provides decent commentary.
At some point there was a whole cottage industry of “alternate commentary” channels on YouTube and PodCast platforms but they are were very difficult to produce technically because the audio and video would be badly out of sync. You kind of need the broadcasters to embrace it.
I quite like Andy Capostagno but I can understand if he's not to everyone's liking. I enjoy his knowledge of the players, and when he talks about their schools and clubs, but his commentary is probably better suited for cricket.Blake wrote: Sun Nov 15, 2020 6:45 am One of my biggest bugbears watching SA Rugby. I watch a lot of English rugby and really admire how polished their presenters are.
I can tolerate Capostagno, he’s certainly better than any of the former players providing backup commentary, but Pearce and Cowley are the cream of the crop in SA. Agree with Andy on cricket. Pretty decent there.assfly wrote: Sun Nov 15, 2020 7:12 am I quite like Andy Capostagno but I can understand if he's not to everyone's liking. Before his decline, Hugh Bladen, was also decent but he’s been terrible for the last 10-15 years.

Interesting. Damien first gave away 3 for a penalty. Then a kick not into touch results in a Cheetahs try with Damien missing the tackle. Gelant was all over the first two Stormers tries. Man that kid is looking good. Damien very nice offload for Gelant try.
Fok, if you want criticism go re-watch Naas tear into the Sarks at half-time on Friday.assfly wrote: Sun Nov 15, 2020 6:07 am South African rugby really needs better broadcasting personalities. Our commentators are utter shit. Especially Warren Brosnihan, he really is unbearable.
