Just caught up with highlights of Makos v Welly midweek game and just what the actual f**k is this piece of reffing from Pickerell and the TMO?

Without even looking at the clip, I can tell you it was the TMO awarding a try to Garden-Bachop despite his left arm clearly hitting the ground in touch before he grounded the ball.

Apparently the TMO admitted to one of the commentators (seated basically next to each other) immediately afterward that he had been focused solely on the grounding and had completely missed the arm in touch. It was a perfect defensive tackle by Reece playing fullback.

Yeah, I heard that later on in the highlights. Disgraceful.

And just what was Pickerell doing as the ref? I am assuming in NZ he can see the replay too?

Southland and Waikato went to the oranges at 14 - 14 but Waikato have shifted 2-3 gears and are now leading 35 - 17.

Counties 9 Roigard is a damned good player, but has been a bit off with the last pass in a couple of try scoring movements he inspired

Missed the first half, dammit.

Agree re Roigard, he's a great young halfback.

Counties look very dangerous in broken play thanks to excellent support of the ball carrier but Canterbury are slowly taking control of the match. Just need to settle down a bit and work on territory

The Magpies about to defend the Shield against the Lions.

Have a sneaky feeling the Capitalists just might pinch it tonight.

Which of the Umaga-Jensen brothers is better? Are they AB prospects?

Probably Thomas, but the poor bugger gets injured every five minutes so hard to say.

Peter was capped a couple of years ago, but hasn't really kicked on. Think he's been out injured quite a bit as well.

Well done, Wellington! And really hard luck to the Magpies, after 15 games with the Log. Terrific team.

Like the look of the Wellington no.6. He's got a decent pedigree as a NZ U20. Big boy with some skills. AB potential blindside flanker maybe.
