They are absolutely terrified of Saka
Imagine with a ref that didn't let them repeatedly foul him. Then again this is very much the fault of english prem refs who let teams kick him all over the place in week in week out- it is weird stuff that it is a foul on gabriel jesus, odegaard, martinelli etc... just isn't on Saka.

Surprised Saliba can't make the french team. Upemecano has been very lucky.

You can see why basketball has the notion of a team foul. Smart sides just kick the biggest threat off the park by cynical, systematic rotation of offenders. Pele suffered it his entire career.

Luke Shaws crosses are so crap. They hang in the air too long and are always overhit.

Losing both James and Chilwell before the tournament was a big blow.

Probably a little injured and very tired. He's done a huge amount of running.

Like I've been saying all tournie, this is a very lazy Fre side. Reminds me of Fre rugby for so many, many years. Some ability but lazy, no brains and no composure. Some of this defending would have been embarrassing at the Riverside this afternoon.

Since the pen it's been constant whistle. Not sure England will get going here. 8 minutes though, whew.

Same. Removal of Saka and Foden lowers the quality of the front 3. Sterling and Rashford are different players and i would argue not as good. French defence have done well with the crossing threat.

100% this. See all my posts re Brazil. It's not chances carved out, shots or shots on target that matter but goals. Regardless of the ref, Eng had enough chances to win this and Fra created f**k all.

Well, defo the best side (by some margin) lost but also only themselves to blame for not at least making extra time.

Small margins, hey. Well done France. Well done England, honestly - pretty good performance.
Won't say I told you so because I thought England would be outclassed but that didn't happen, could easily have come out winners on the night.
