Just back on the clean tackle area. I think there in lies the ABs biggest issue up North, they are not used to heavily challenged tackles. Where the opposition grind and niggle and slow the ball, etc.
Ironically McCaw was one of the best at it.
It's a bit of both. Here sides are not committing as much to the breakdown to contest. Happier to tackle and fan.
Saders have adapted and realised Canes too light with their own ball and repeatedly driving them off it now. Canes too stupid to adapt too.

Several good counter rucks later in the game but some of them were penalised in pretty tough calls.

Slightly damp, but a nice win to kick off the Reds’ season.

Can you get a full game replay on that? Not immediately clear if you can to me, but I might be missing something.

Your understatement is still performing to spec. I'm v. glad I took my rain poncho as we were in a row not far from the fence, i.e. uncovered.
Sadly, An
gus also performed to spec. He can't let more than a minute of play go by without signalling advantage.

I’m guessing this doesn’t cover the RC, though. Even though it’s got last years RC available in it.
The season pass only seemed to indicate it was for Supe Pacific

Canterblacks Vs Highlanders on now. Sadists lucky to avoid a card for a head high tackle but I prefer 15 on 15.

Good start Landers - a penalty and then a try to Gilbert.
10 - 0

I'm streaming this in on cricfree with a Supersport feed and it keeps flicking to a replay of an English try in an U20 game...
the same replay. Over and over.

As expected, the Clan did not go without a fight but that was a fine last quarter by the Crusaders.

Yep, they had a dominant second quarter as well. Went up a gear when they had to. Jordan's in great nick.
I hope de Groot's OK.

Ok, so you not actually paying your share , and supporting NZ rugby??
Anyway a bloody good game I thought, you would of been happy with result. Is it my imagination, but bloody Scott Barrett is I think leading that Crusaders pack so bloody well.
For the Clan Frizell was a monster and they missed him when he was replaced I thought.

Excellent game, once the Saders found their rhythm they were hard to contain.
Matera was interesting to watch. Still getting used to the pace of it I think.
I hate the way Scott Barrett is usually a poofteenth away from giving away a penalty or card. He’s a liability.
Jordan is just irrepressible. Refusing to be tackled and just staggering to the line

. His field kicking is very good.
The Clan suffered with having to rejig their backline early but that’s still potent unit. I think their posies probably came off second best for the night.
Great to see Fakatava back in action and confident with his knee. He’s so quick, a joy to watch.
Mitch Hunt is a genuinely good player but he’s got a bit of a shitty attitude at times. Let’s it get to him a bit.
I reckon one more kick deep in attack from Bryn Hall would see him enjoying a break, that was a fucking stupid decision. Halfbacks, ffs.
Ennor looked good when he was involved, likewise Fa’singanuku, Umaga Jensen and Tamaiti Williams.

Very true. I suspect it'll be a very challenging post-mortem on Monday morning trying to work out how they managed to lose that game.
I don't think it was a smart move by Coleman to replace the entire front row at around 60 mins. While Bell seemed to have received a knock on the thigh, it wasn't slowing him down much, and the other two were still running around like 2yos. Their replacements didn't have remotely the same accuracy or dynamism.
