It's deplorable, & it's why a phenomenon like Me-Too took decades to trigger a proper clearout.

If there were a full accounting of the groping & worse that happened on just TOTP over the entire shows run; using todays standards; the number of separate reportable acts would number in the thousands !

Nobody had a scooby about Harris?? Pull the other one. The BBC certainly did.

Somebody I know was groped by Rolf Harris while working on a show with him. This happened right in front of the producer who just shrugged. My friend quit the BBC soon afterwards. To say she is not a fan of the organisation is an understatement.

We're hearing about it in the Beeb, but you can be damn sure it happened in all the other media outlets, newspapers, banks etc, down the line; at the level of just plain ordinary sexual harrassment.

Then there were institutions like the Beeb, where predators knew they could get access to their preferred prey; the scouts, youth sports, religious institutions, care homes etc, etc

The institutions might be overwhelmingly been made up of decent individuals, but if there isn't rigorous screening, & processes designed to protect people, then your still screwed

Concerning the Jimmy Saville case it was a failure of many institutions; the NHS, police, politicians and others but the behaviour of the BBC was particularly egregious. Even after his death they were still covering up for him and the journalist/reporters that worked for them had to go to ITV to expose the late Jimmy Saville. Anyway, the BBC seems to be leading a campaign to stop Ukraine getting cluster ammunitions so they can absolutely get fucked

I get they aren't the police but it seems blind eye to outright cover up/denial is modus operandi for the likes of Savile.

Looks rather like the Sun's claims are unravelling.

On Monday, detectives from the Metropolitan police specialist crime command had a virtual meeting with BBC representatives to discuss the allegations.
