Best of Luck to him. Good move for him and England. We need a better gameplan and have better options at 10 to put that into practice, given time. Gives England the opportunity to make real fresh start and develop a new team with much more clarity.

I think it's fair to say the rot set in about 12 months ago, really, with his inexplicable loss of form with the boot, which he never really regained, and it seemed to affect the rest of his game around the same time he started really producing some poor performances for England. Took a while for his Saracens play to drop off given how good they were last season but as they're more mortal this time round (unless you're Quins  ) he's really struggled in a way we've not consistently seen at club level for a very, very long time.

So either way it's a good move for someone - either he's lost it and Saracens are freeing up everything in order to rejuvenate themselves, or Racing are just the ticket for him to enjoy playing rugby again and find his form in a potentially world class team.
I think, to be fair, the decline in his kicking can be correlated very closely with his double ankle injuries. But otherwise I largely agree. The double charge down Saturday was the first time I’ve seen his head actually go down. Everything has got too much and he needs a change. Racing isn’t exactly out of the limelight, but it gets him away from the English speaking press and fans, which has to be good for him. Let’s see what it does for his game.

Not the greatest Farrell fan, but I do hope it goes well for him.

Farrell's replacement signed from Crusaders on 3 year contract.
Dual qualified for England and Scotland!!!
With Owen Farrell’s well-documented move to Racing 92 just on the horizon, Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall has been hot on the heels of a replacement.

The exit of Farrell will leave a gaping leadership hole for others to quickly try and shut. A team full of experienced internationals should have the ability to step up and lead despite their fearless leader’s exit – but will it be enough? The squad is ageing and needs young blood to come through and guide those at the StoneX to a new age.

The successor to the Farrell dynasty appears to now have been chosen, and it comes in the form of 24-year-old Crusader, Fergus Burke.

Has to be Irish qualified too with a name like that, surely?
