we've been hearing they'll be ready to build a bomb in weeks for 20+ years, there's more than a little boy who cried wolf to such claims now. not that I especially want to defend Iran's leadership, far from it

He does have a need to seek personal approval and acclaim however specious- nothing to do with raving Narcissistic Personality Disorder I'm sure. By now I believe that if I agreed with a shop over a refund he'd be on Twitter within 10 mins claiming the credit for it

In a weird way this clip sums up Trumps success in my view.

Sure, right wing, left wing, immigration etc. etc. but there's a chunk I reckon that are just so fed up of the political class they'll run towards anyone who doesn't sound like them.

I strongly suspect Netanyahu knows exactly what he is doing! He doesn't want a cease fire whilst he thinks he has the upper hand militarily and is desperate to do as much damage to Iran et al whilst he can. He is also desperate to keep the US tied into the conflict and indeed would like to see them more deeply involved. Methinks he has once again screwed Trump over in their game of 3D chess!

Close enough. This is Trump's problem solving process:

1. Assess situation and compact into half a sentence. Do this quickly only through talking to people (no reading, takes too long, doesn't always produce a clear view), in politics this can mean people like Netanyahu. Never deviate from the position reached, in this case "Iran cannot have nuclear weapons".
2. Talk to relevant actors, perhaps make extreme demands as a bargaining position. Make a clear divide between friends and enemies. Take max a few weeks doing this.
3. Take extreme action to directly address the identified problem. Regardless of what anyone says, the law, complaints it's not productive, etc.
4. If the problem was simple it is now fixed. If the problem has any complexity it's now more of a mess. If the former take credit. If the latter still take credit and also say "I did what I could and now don't care, fuck them/it/that!".

"TACO" doesn't accurately describe it. It's a good process for the simple problems a businessman faces, it is the sort of advice people pay a lot of money for. Terrible when applied to anything complex, Trump has had his incompetence exposed, he's not in control of this situation.
