'Man has an argument with his partner' is probably not the greatest scandal Boris has ever been involved in.

Probably more to do with the pummelling he would be getting at Question Time and the Opposition Day motion that Labour will be proposing tomorrow

Imagine how annoyed his MPs are going to be. Lost a very cushy and lucrative lifestyle all because Charles Moore wanted to help his mate Charles Patterson avoid a 30 day suspension.SaintK wrote: Tue Nov 16, 2021 3:44 pm Someone in No 10 has managed to persuade the blonde slug that the last couple of weeks hasn't been too edifying

Exactly; & the bit about it not being prioritized over the duties; is easily remedied, by reducing the declared hours worked on their side gigs.Mahoney wrote: Tue Nov 16, 2021 5:06 pm Banning being a "political or Parliamentary consultant or adviser" probably leaves quite a lot of wiggle room for people to be non-political / Parliamentary consultants or advisers.
So Deadwood will now say he only spends 25 hours a month on his gig; instead of 50, & can claim it all happens on his weekends; so no conflict.

Meanwhile, back in the Commons, MPs continue to debate proposed changes to rules surrounding their ability to work second jobs.
Tory MP Mark Fletcher says recent headlines about MPs' second jobs "simply reinforce" what the public feels about politicians.
But he argues this is unfair and urges Labour and other opposition parties to "dial down the mud-slinging" against Conservatives.
The party seems to be packed full of school bullies who run off when called out and pretend to be the victims.SaintK wrote: Wed Nov 17, 2021 5:40 pm![]()
Oh the irony! Perhaps he might want to ask his party lerader to dial down the bull-shit slinging every time he opens his mouth!

I think it’s totally impractical to dream up some sort of approved time allocation. The main thing I’m bothered about is making sure that MPs aren’t paid to try to influence Government policy.SaintK wrote: Wed Nov 17, 2021 10:17 am Clear as mud then!! The question is; are they doing it for their Constituents; who pay them 82k, for 40+ hrs a week; or for Scumbag Inc; that pays the 100k+, for 8 hrs a week ? ........ hmmm
Death throws for current Gov and PM now. Tory party looks to have decided that he isn't fit for purpose now and is more a liability than an asset. Brexit fecked up - EU and US holding all the cards, covid going to be bad this winter, corruption scandal/sleaze issues & cock ups, Tory shit in seas and rivers vote debacle, HS2 retreat from north, Acuri scandal back in press, Daily Heil and Express openly hostile now, Blonde Bumblecunt's dad a pervert ... it goes on and on. It will be interesting to see what happens in 1922 meeting tonight but it looks like the shoogly peg is ready to fall off the wall. They will want shot of him before the real major shit comes out about fraudulent PPE contracts and further investigations into the BB himself drag them all into a real mire - they need him out so they have a ready excuse for all the shit and can throw the blame for all this crap onto him and his bunch of Brexit Ultras. They need a year or two to recover before the next election, Sunak is their chosen one. It is going to be a nasty few weeks for the Tory twats.
I obviously (I hope) meant payment by third parties and not their MP salary. It should be possible to create a mechanism that outlaws corruption and permits MPs to carry out legitimate paid work, if somebody has the energy to do their MP’s job and do a bit of lawyering or whatever on the side then I’m not hung up about it.fishfoodie wrote: Wed Nov 17, 2021 6:09 pmIt's, by definition; an MPs job to,"influence Government policy.".GogLais wrote: Wed Nov 17, 2021 6:03 pm

This interesting! Never really heard of these groups before but £30m over 5 years is a lot of 'sponsorship'. Many will be legit and run on cross party lines and be fully transparent but it would appear there are some that seem to attract funding from pretty dodgy sources, if you can find out who funds them! As BBC suggest the next focus for investigation? The smell of shit from Westminster doesn't go away and it would appear a lot of mostly Tory MPs are desperate for the attention to disappear.

Would suggest you're creating a Tory party in your mind rather than engaging with the one that exists. While I disagree with his politics, he does have the aura that would make a decent PM and statesman ( although he's not up against much competition in the Front Bench there ).robmatic wrote: Thu Nov 18, 2021 8:26 amHe's quite popular with the actual membership, if you ever speak to any of them. Over 60s might change their minds when the realise their pension is going up less than inflation - a pension cut - as the Tories have reneged on the triple lock promise and when the first hugely increased gas and electric bills pop through their letterbox they will blow a fuse. Of course the crumblies in the Shires don't worry too much about the costs but many others will. There is still a long way to go with corruption and sleaze particularly with the PPE contracts etc and the Blonde Bumblecunt can't cope with the intense focus on him and his Brexit Ultras. The DUP will blow a fuse when the UK inevitably settles on a WA deal with the EU and doesn't trigger Article 16 - the US won't let them - and it will be a difficult time in NI. It is all about timing but I suspect they will act sooner rather than later and want to be seen on the front foot before they get dragged too deep into the BB quicksand and can't escape. BB has served his purpose and the moneymen behind the scene will want rid asap.petej wrote: Wed Nov 17, 2021 11:43 pmDisagree. Why kick him out before more shit comes out.
